Or there is some perceived slight in his mind either by government in General or by something she stood for, campaigned against or a personal issue he took to her. Very scary Killing a PC would attract a whole life sentence. I'd imagine offing an MP would merit similar.

There was an interview on earlier with Gavin Barwell who is the MP for croydon central (I have met him a few times when he was a croydon councillor) and he was talking about his experiences with a constituent who was carrying a knife. Really hammers home the fact most MPS are normal people living in houses like ours with families and children of their own doing there job with the threat of danger or nutters quite regularly. I have been into the house of commons and the house of lords and the security there is immense on par with the airport but sadly you cannot police them doing their job in the community

Sadly, I fear Powell's prophecy was all too accurate.

I don't think I've posted a link to the spectator before, but this piece is bang on the money...

Viewing this from France, it is obviously a very sorry story and a young family will be without their mother. But is this really an 'attack on democracy and freedom' or the act of a mentally ill person, similar to the Dunblane and Hungerford killings?

But they are responsible for the manner in which they have pressed their argument. Contradicts itself in consecutive sentences. So no, nowhere the money. A cheap attempt to discredit the Leave campaign.

A lot of people making assumptions will probably be a day or two before we know what he was thinking. One theory on Radio 4 (Stephen Kinnock I think ) earlier was she may have not been the original target. I am sure there'll be another 101 theories
