Downing Street has been forced to issue four statements on the matter, initially saying it was a "private matter" whether the Cameron family still had funds in offshore investments, before stating they "do not benefit from any offshore funds" and there are none they will benefit from in the future.

Admittedly it was 'Downing Street' but I can't imagine they released that statement without getting his ok, can you?

That is materially different from didn't profit though.

I'd imagine a type of benefit would be making a profit.

No my point is he did not say he hadn't benefited in the past.

My thought on this is that the moneyed elite are better than us plebs and therefore, we should think very carefully about the tax burden they inherit or they will f*** off, with their money, to some tax haven.

Respect your betters or they will f*** us.

When I read your posts I can't quite decide if you are being satirical or have watched a series too many of Downtown Abbey and crave a return to the days when you could prove your worth to the world as a really good butler.

Anyway, I don't mind being a pleb but I'm not an ignorant pleb. So I don't buy that a rich person is necessary better than me, they are just richer than me. I also don't buy that all rich people are wealth creators. I would say a lot are just in a good position to hoover wealth up that is created by somebody else.

Idolizing and benefiting this group is Thatcher's legacy and the story of neo-liberalism.

The rich should pay their taxes and then enjoy their relative wealth that they still have left and ordinary people can enjoy decent public services as well.

Otherwise they should just piss off with their families and live in Panama and see how they like it.

You should read some Hayek and drop all this rebellion nonsense.

You will feel better once you accept your place in the World and let your betters get on with their business.

Once again Labour's Tom Watson keeps mouthing off chasing a lost cause.

To start with it seemed he had a point.... things looked grim for Cameron with the initial mis-reporting that he was mixed up in his dad's off shore business and he seemed to be ducking the issue when questioned about it.

Once it became clear that Cameron had only invested in an off shore fund to the tune of £30K of his own money, had paid all his taxes due and sold his holding in 2010, it became a non story.

All this talk of demanding a resignation makes Watson and Labour look silly again.

Next time we play PSG, get a groundsman to 'accidentally' leave a rake out at the side of the pitch where the players come in. That would work for sure.

We have no betters. All men are born, live, suffer and die. The preservation of wealth in this manner simply intensifies disparity, when it could be the means by which we, as a species, advance.
