I agree shelleyan orphan for horribly overlooked albums. There are a number of classics that have very much not been overlooked like forever changes, notorious Byrd bros, what's going on, marquee moon and everything by the pixies but I am embarrassed at appearing a bit mainstream.... How about the congoes? Sound of the Congos is a great album. I discovered this modernish dub album today from Lightning Head... Also been listening to George the Poet.

New single with David Crosby on it. Tis quite lovely, although his voice is beginning to go.

Can't disagree silver Everything that's been Curtised is class and the Superfly album is probably his crowning glory. But my thinking is, if you've a passing interest in soul then you'll bump into Superfly but The Impressions could easily pass you by. Which would be a pity. The Impressions - I'm so proud Anyway, enough of that tunefull stuff. Let's have a bit of din. My Bloody Valentine - Soon

Mumsnet recommended settling her by playing something with a heavy base line that their bio-rhythms apparently get in sync with. Cue Burning Spear's Marcus Garvey at full volume. Worked a treat. PS also something of a brilliant album.

Not a track, not an album, not a band. An internet radio station. Listen to SomaFM Sonic Universe, and crank up the volume. Or, if you want something a little later in the evening, try Contemporary Jazz Club. Then tell us all what you think.

If you like rock, Belly's 'Sweet Ride' collection of B-sides and rare tracks is a blinding addition to any collection. Arguably its their best album.

I've ignored it as it's classed as Greatest hits (and I've got all of their, errm, both of their albums) but it seems it's not quite that. Star is one of my favourite albums of all time
