very interesting point made earlier how Rich Tea fingers are nicer than the more familiar circular template - funny how shapes change the taste experience, cup or mug of tea, fingered or chunky kitkat, spagehetti or pasta shells etc - I think having deliberated thus that it is wise to be wary of squared or rectangular biscuits, would a circular custard cream be less foul? Interesting. Would a rounded bourbon make an improvement? possibly. Never seen a square or oblong ginger nut either.

The ultimate experience of this phenomena is surely the difference between carrot and grated carrot.

That's almost another state of matter rather than a mere shape change.

Find the majority of biscuits things that I don't really massively like but am quite capable of eating packets in a sitting. The worst are surely those pink, wafery cnuts in the big selection tins. And fig rolls. To my great shame, I've not read all of the thread so apologies if their foulness is already on the record.

Plain digestives go well with a really mature tangy cheddar cheese and some onion relish..... and a nice glass of vintage port!

So do hot cross buns or teacakes.

ANd with Christmas cake. Without the relish, I might add.

as per the above post, FIG ROLLS, yuk!
However, whats those small square plain biscuits with a slightyly sugary dusting?
'Nice' (or not so nice)?

What does Willo think?

T1t Willow (or Thrush as I call him) could probably enlighten us detailing a bygone era in the Grocer's emporium where biscuits were sold loose over the counter out of tin boxes and were rationed from 1939 to 1952......

He's not the only one, Hoof! ........and you forgot to mention the square glass panel in the top of the tin so you could see what variety they were

Oh! and don't forget the tin of assorted broken biscuits (usually a third of the price of whole ones) that were the staple treat for us poor people

Plain digestives with a very ripe Camembert works well too!

Nice must be the world's most boring biscuit but Oreos are simply disgusting!
Must admit to be occasionally tempted by an M&S dark chocolate coated ginger biscuit or even a wagon wheel with jam but my biccie barrel usually has plain digestives in it. H
