Yes I just read that "Tony Blair and Loose Women's June Sarpong join the campaign to keep Britain in the EU". That should swing it for the OUT campaign then.

Extremely uncomfortable with the loss of nations' respective sovereignties/democracies (see Greece) and for that reason I'm out.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Why do PR teams think that Tony Blair will influence anything positively?

Good question Hoofy.

As I am a complete idiot on this subject,I need in simple plain English the good and bad of staying in or out of the EU.

Dont forget simple English, little words, short paragraphs.

Lets see how we get on.

Well having read the last couple of days posts,I'm none the wiser.

Since 1945 - Resultant long term peace, relative general stability and being part of the the biggest trade region in the world are my reasons for an 'in' vote if that helps.

The EU has its flaws no doubt but the good far outweighs the bad. Plus, we won't be able to correct those flaws if we are not part of it.

It's the rational choice even if it does feel a wee bit dirty.

The bloke leading the "in" campaign said it is "patriotic" to remain within the EU.

Patriotic letting foreigners make our laws? The bloke's a t***.

By his reasoning I must be a traitor for wanting the UK to be out.

No. All he was saying, and not unreasonably, is that it is in our best economic interest that we stay and to leave would be hurtful in that regard. No one wants us to go backward. Well, maybe some do to fulfil their own agenda. But there really is no point in leaving if we are gong to be worse off.

Patriot as defined by Meriram Webster:

a person who loves and strongly supports or fights for his or her country [Link]

Patriotic as defined by Oxford Dictionaries:

Having or expressing devotion to and vigorous support for one’s country [Link]

Yep, he's still a t***...
