Allegations become embellished, embellished allegations become facts... Grow up people. The people wetting their pants about this wouldn't believe a word Ashcroft had said before these "revelations".
Edited by oldcodger (21 Sep 2015 4.06pm) I'm not confining it just to this site. The press need to do so first and foremost. It's as pathetic and lazy as the continual use of "gate" as a suffix. I don't disagree. The press can't resist a story like this. They're every bit as depraved as the politicians they mock. They're worse. They'd print anything to sell copy and then deny/retract later if they have to. When you turn the tables on them to see what they get up to, which we've seen a snippet of via the phone hacking, bunging the police or entrapment etc, you'd put nothing beyond them. The retractions are often tucked away somewhere too, so they have little to lose. I think the sad truth is that both politicians and the press get away with whatever they can until they're found out. They use each other when it suits them but are mostly in bed together, manipulating the public.

Indeed, gate as a suffix suggests a scandal, rather than amusement. Although if the alleged photograph surfaces, it could move from amusement to downright hilarious. Its not scandal though, by a long shot. Also what did the press call scandals before Watergate? Its not even on a par with the fact he employed Andy Coulson and the Rebecca Brooks association. But I do hope that picture exists and surfaces. It'll be a black mirror come to life.
Gimme a f***ing break more like. Just saying there is an alleged photograph makes the stories more pathetic. "There's evidence, we just don't have it." If there was, and they say they contacted who is alleged to have it, print who it is that is purported to have it. "Unnamed sources" tend not to sue, which is a nice easy way of printing whatever you want to.

Even if the person that has been wronged goes after them, they've usually more than covered the costs in sales, promotional value and associated advertising revenue.

As for the drugs, I thought him and Gideon were well known for it. I would expect Boris to have had many toots as well circulating in the same clubs. HOWEVER with Boris' reputation, you know he stuck it in the pig.

You mean Ashcroft wouldn't believe the pant wetters on the hol, or were you getting at something else? No one cares about the drugs. Not even those who claim they do, I suspect.

I'd rather stick my weapon in a dead pig than in Diane Abbott, personally. I imagine she would rather you did, as well

Drugs, I would vote for total legalisation. Edited by pefwin (21 Sep 2015 6.01pm)
