You lot don't know how fortunate you were to be born in an affluent, stable, peaceful western country do you?

It's a prerequisite of being a lefty that you are middle class, completely ignorant and never happy.

Genius... got me in one. Never happy, completely ignorant, and middle class. I'd like to point out of course that the class system you reference is a industrial era class system, that's redundant in definitions of post industrial consumer society, but unfortunately I'm completely ignorant.

Yep, I did Sociology at school too. Try coming up with your own opinion.

That's incorrect, you claim asylum on arrival in the UK (or as soon as possible - some people find themselves in need of asylum as a result of changes in a country whilst they were away); not the first country you arrive in.

Personally, I'd rather have French citizenship in terms of welfare, than the UK but c'est la vie.

At least according to the .gov site detailing how to claim asylum in the UK.

But would you be able to put up with the racism and xenophobia dished out by the population of France?

Are Chelsea already playing Champions League games in Paris

Fortunately there is no racism and xenophobia dished out in the UK.... (Admittedly its less of a problem here).

Agreed, but it is ingrained in the French psyche and the problems between France and Algeria have been ongoing for years, but the French government now want to tap the Algerian market, so they're cosying up with Algeria. But the French still consider anyone non French to be inferior, fvck knows why

I also know how fortunate people are to live in Monaco, Cannes, and Nice, Dan, but I don't turn up on their doorstep demanding a free slice of their lavish lifestyle not having contributed or worked towards it though?

I know Bristol's not exactly the Maldives but I'm not sure you've ever been forced to flee from war or famine or fear of being forcefully raped.

OK, well maybe the last one.

Those in Calais are more likely to be economic migrants though surely Danno ? If your main concern was not getting bum raped in some god forsaken sub Saharan shytehole then whether you landed in France, Italy, even Bristol your first thought would not be to slog half way across Europe and put your life in your hands racing the Eurostar down the tunnel.

The interesting thing is that they would get more money from the state in every country they pass through than they do in Britain. The UK offers one of the lowest levels of financial support across Europe yet still it is Britain they want to come to. Part of that is language but doesn't that - at some level - make you proud of our country?

That's not a concern for DanH, not even a raised eyebrow (unless in excitement). That my friend is a gert big mahoosive tick in the box for HOL's resident skinny jeans, and make up protagonist.

If logic doesn't win you an argument then homophobia certainly will eh?

I think the lady doth protest to much.

You're saying that the most popular language with asylum seekers is Portuguese? Are you sure?

I think rather more will have English as a first or second language than any other

Speaking of logic you have offered nothing in the way of logical debate, your boring lefty tirades are just baseless nonsense made from Mirror and Guardian headlines, which when argued logically against, normally end up with you being a sarky prat because you have no actual answer for the questions asked of you.

Well, if logic is on the menu then i suggest you start by addressing your ramblings, amusing as they are, at the right person. No tirades, and never read either the mirror or the guardian as they are both full of rubbish. Still, as your posts make clear, you don't place a very high importance on facts, truth or logic. Keep digging!
