The NHS is broken and has been for decades. As I posted but it’s untouchable because it is a political tool. Doctors and nurses at the front end are probably in agreement and know where change is needed but they don’t shout the loudest and have nothing to lose by change. Upper management and the strategists etc shout the loudest as they have the most to lose. They need gagging and start to listen. It would be in all of the publics interest.

When labour threw 10 billion at trying to link the systems it then got panned. It really should have persisted as now we would have a more fluid, safer nhs.

the NHS should charge more money to time-wasting hypochondriacs who clog up the system with a broken fingernail. also charge money for self inflicted illnesses. Junkies, alcoholics, the Obese, & smokers.

Just some ideas for the NHS. Make people have to build up several years National Insurance before they can use the NHS. Maybe give one free GP visit per year. Charge 10 pounds per GP visit except for people with chronic illness, disability. Charge people on the dole £5. Bring in mandatory private health insurance for higher grade public servants and those earning over 50k per year. Allow public patients to go private if they pay a certain part of the costs (20%). Offer services and leaflets in English only. Anyone not speaking English finds and funds their own interpreter.

I think everyone should pay a minimum amount each year the same as you would do for car insurance or home contents. Edited by Badger11 (29 Jul 2022 1.49pm) Edited by Badger11 (29 Jul 2022 1.50pm)

For me it should be more about consequences for people who fail to turn up to appointments or continually present themselves for treatment related to lifestyle choices they consistently refuse to change. I use myself as an example. Now I have never had a medical problem, so far, connected to my being a fat b******. I accept that I am lucky like that but let's say I did go along to the Doctors and was told that I needed to lose weight because it was impacting on a very specific part of my health. What obligation should I have around that? Now that would, and always should be, a choice on my part but would I then still be entitled to NHS treatment if I cannot help myself by dropping the flab? I believe that a liver transplant can be delayed/refused if a person will not give up drinking so why should us fatties not be treated in a similar fashion? Or people who smoke? And so on.

They would be, if it was true, which, of course, it isn't. This is just propaganda from the obsessed:-

I don't know if this is the appropriate thread, but I came across this recent quote from the Pope, who leads one of the most conservative organisations in the world. Hardly a left-winger! It mirrors my own opinion that everything evolves and those who fail to progress, go backwards. Food for thought, I hope, for a few of those here who think otherwise:- ""A church that doesn't evolve is a church that goes backwards," Pope Francis said. "Many people who call themselves traditionalists, they are not, they just go backwards. That is a sin. "Tradition is the living faith of the dead, instead their attitude is the dead faith of the living. It is important to understand the role of tradition - a musician used to say the tradition is the guarantee of the future, it is not a piece that belongs in a museum."

Yeah, I'm sure everyone notices just how progressive Cornwall is.....progressives moving to conservative areas while advocating for change.....yeah we know what that is. 'Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire.' (Gustav Mahler)
'Who are you and how did you get in here? I'm a locksmith. And, I'm a locksmith.' (Leslie Nielsen) |

I really have no idea what’s actually going on in your head. It’s a bit like Homer Simpson with a slighter bigger vocabulary. You are the perfect propaganda sponge. Edited by W12 (30 Jul 2022 5.55pm)
