I think Corbyn's annual expense claim of £8.57 (or thereabouts) is a scandalous waste of taxpayers money.

I agree Nick absolutely disgusting, it really is and he should be horse whipped!!

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Don't know the detail of this case so cannot comment.

One thing we can be certain of is that history teaches us that our security and legal powers will lie, lie and lie again to put innocent people into prison because they need to be seen to get "a result"

And without them a hell of a lot more nutters wouldbe lose on the streets, and a hell of alot more people would be dead.

Thats the thing with comments like this, all to easy to deride our security services, as only the errors are highlighted. I wonder if you'd be the first to congratulate MI5/6 if they foiled a plot to kidnapp you and cut your bonce off live on you tube ?

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Indeed.... what we have to remember is that we are dealing with terrorists who do not abide by fair play and the "Queensbury Rules".

So what if MI5/6 sometimes go "off-piste" to foil a terror plot?

Is irrelivent, because suspending the right to a fair trial is unlawful. The failure to provide evidence held that may be useful to the defense is contrary to UK law, and they are bound by those legal duties.

The security services are not above the law, and are accountable for their actions. In this case, their actions could very well have led to the wrong people in prison, and the actual terrorists being free to continue.

The same goes for the police, you hear about it when they get it wrong, and most of the time they get it right, but that doesn't absolve failure.

We should never suspend legal rights just because its convenient for getting 'the person you think is guilty' banged up.

Nor do MI-5 and 6, which is why they have no powers of arrest or prosecution. They actually are civil servants, not law enforcement agencies.

However they are not a law onto themselves, and do have to follow the laws of the UK, admittedly things like Warrants are handled differently. And because they don't prosecute cases, the rules of evidence are slightly different. But they are not allowed to withhold information from the defense that could be used to prove the innocence of someone.

Of course you could equally say, what if they get it wrong, and accidently frame the wrong person, and as a result of them putting that case to rest, you are kidknapped and have your head cut off on live TV, because they didn't get the right guy.

It always works both ways.

Saw the bbc programme on him last night. He's going to be hilarious as Labour leader. Looking forward to the bonkers stuff he'll come out with.

Thought the BBC programme was fairly predictable last night. They know that the chances of Labour under Corbyn winning an election are extremely slim, which just means another anti-BBC Tory government until 2020; more than enough time for the corporation to be changed beyond recognition.

Auntie BBC has been more like Comrade BBC for a long long time now. Blatant left wing bias wherever you look. It's hardly surprising that the Tories have finally had enough of their loonie lefty liberal (small l) luvvie propaganda. It's high time the Beeb became the unbiased public service and entertainment channel it is meant to be.
