Call it whatever you like, envy, resentment, covetousness, grudge, invidiousness, lusting!
Earning vast sums of money from what is basically natural talent, what's wrong with that? Premier league footballers earnings pale into insignificance compared with American sports stars.
What about those that head up UK corporate boards, Banks and Hedge funds. Fortunate to be born into wealthy family owned companies or just wealthy families.
Or just lucky enough to inherit vast sums of money or estate.
It is what is is! Would a huge lottery win change your outlook on life Rudi?

No it wouldn’t. Look, your points have been answered in previous posts. Footballers don’t have the humility and maturity to handle the huge riches that come their way and haven’t had to go through hours upon hours upon years of hard work and study and sometimes knock backs or failure. It’s come to them relatively much faster and easier, and a lot of that is through genes or being (scouted) in the right place at the right time. Besides, footballers are meant to be role models or that is how it appears with how they’re idolised.

Compare the road to success of any of those you’ve mentioned to footballers and it’s anyone’s guess how many multiple more hours those people in those professions have worked to get where they are.

‘It is what is.’ An answer that always makes me roll my eyes.

It has been mentioned that following the Coronavirus pandemic, most clubs will have alot less to spend on transfers. One agent commented that you are likely to see many more swap deals or loans.

Where does that leave us with Wilf when the season does finish. It's highly unlikely anyone will be outlaying the 80m wanted by Palace even more now.

Does he end up staying after all ?

Or do we end up player swaps ?

Seems Newcastle may be in the frame.

This is the 21st century not the 18th!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Darren Bent makes a comment and that means Newcastle are in the frame to sign zaha?

‘ Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has suggested that Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha would be a marquee signing for Newcastle United following a prospective takeover.’

That’s it. Nothing else.

It is only a desperate attempt to fill space when there is no real news about but looking at it from a Toon point of view Wilf on one wing and Allan Saint-Maximin on the other would be something special to watch.

Zaha hasn't the time for a Batty side pass, they have as much chance of winning anything as us.

Yet more reports of Wilf to Newcastle.. Would hate this to happen more than the Everton rumours last year..
Fingers crossed its more drivel to fill the empty football spaces during this pandemic.
Newcastle fans really starting to get ahead of themselves since the takeover talks begun, would be a real shame if it all fell through.

If they pay way over the odds as clubs do when they’re in this building phase like Newcastle May be then I wouldn’t object to it, or we end up keeping hold of him until he’s worth nothing and probably on over £130k per week as well. But the problem we have is that it feels like we’re keeping him here until the shareholders get bought out because there’s little plan for life after Zaha and further, in this new climate I doubt we’ll see many looking to buy football clubs. At least we’ve been austere before others are going to have to be.

I hate to say this but if the takeover happens it would make sense. Wilf is not good enough for the really big teams. However he is just the type of exciting player that the wealthy new owners need to get off to a good start with the fans.

I hope it doesn't happen but a resurgent Newcastle or an Everton would be a good move for him.

I agree; equally, clubs who have just been taken over by very wealthy owners are much more likely to pay what Palace want-£80m was the reputed figure last summer. Man City made a number of similar and very expensive buys when they were taken over.
As to how Wilf would do at Newcastle, I have my doubts. He seems to be very grounded in London from everything I read - guess that's why he thought Arsenal were the perfect fit and, according to Emery, he even met him for talks - presumably with the agreement of Palace. Looking back, I am still amazed Arsenal paid £72m for Pepe but offered far less fro wilf.
