Why has anyone got a problem with Wilf - or any player for that matter - earning good money? If we were offered it we would take it! He earns what he earns through market forces. In this instance he has made his properties available for free to front line service personnel and well done him in my opinion! Someone says he donates 10% of his salary to charities - well done him again! Sounds like a decent young man doing the best he can for himself, his family and now others - what on earth is wrong with that? Add to that his tax bill - along with other wealthy individuals - helps us all to pay less tax and helps to keep our services paid for - many thanks to all of them! Envy is not a pleasant thing!

I always struggle with well done’s to people who make money from starting with lots of money in property. It doesn’t require much skill. There’s no borrowing so yields are always profitable and there’s no exposure to economic recessions. I don’t begrudge people doing it while it’s still allowed but it isn’t how I see entrepreneurialism and it certainly is moving homes out of reach of their fellow citizens, causing the property shortage in the first place and a lot of the time just means a different tax payer. Like I say, I don’t begrudge anyone doing it but they don’t get my congratulations. If you’ve built a portfolio up from very little then that’s more impressive. Being able to afford to do it is not a consideration. Zaha doesn't need to do it.

When someone, say a carer doing a really necessary job is unlikely to earn in a year - say £20K what an EPL player considers that an insult for a week for his efforts playing a game, don't you think that some priorities have gone a bit crazy? I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.
