I'm pro-Hodgson in this febrile frenzy of mob opinion.

When he had good players (Cabaye, Loftus-Cheek) CPFC played some super stuff, some of the best we've seen in living memory.

What do we have now?

A centre-forward with four league goals in two seasons, his injury-hit back-up with one goal in nearly three years and a loanee from last season, who when he did eventually find the net, burst into tears after his solitary goal that campaign.

Hodgson and even old stagers like Ward, Kelly and Dann (one goal conceded in 180 mins of PL football) are plus points at the minute.

The rest of the team is dreadful.

Last year, we had 3 high quality players: Zaha, AWB, Batsuyahi. Two are gone, the third wants to be gone, and will likely be out of here in January.

We replaced them with nobody.

We're stuck with an entire squad of players who are average at best in terms of PL quality, many are below average. They are nice guys, try hard most of the time, but they don't have enough skills, and they aren't young.

Hodgson is a dinosaur, which has helped in the past, but now it's just getting maddening watching the same players fail over and over and over, in the same system.

Roy should have retired last year, because it's starting to look like his last managerial season is going to end in either relegation or being sacked.

The blame ultimately resides with SP and DF. Something stinks about our financial situation, and it's been made worse by the decisions of DF.

I have a feeling we'll be in the Championship next season with new owners, new staff, new coach, and new players. And given our roster of old overpaid players, it's more likely we'll be in the bottom half of the Championship unless we get in an administration with ambition and financial skill.

Dougie Freedman was the worst thing to happen to us since returning to the Premier League.

Parish gave him the job. Look at him for questionable appointments. The FdB appointment surely says it all about his ability to attract and appoint the correct candidate for the appropriate position?

Who'd want to sign for Roy?
The tactics are useless.
The players look bored.
The fans are fed up.

We need to find a decent manager then get rid of him.

CPFC 2010 is the personal fiefdom of SP, you can blame a multitude of people for failures and inabilities but at the end of the day He appointed them, He sets the budget and ultimately he will lose millions when we are relegated due to his ineptitude and short sightedness

Losing is always disappointing but to lose playing like that against a no frills but hardworking team makes it worse.

Considering three of our back four were not starters last season I didn’t think they did too bad defensively but distribution from the back was abysmal.

Midfield was ultimately overwhelmed by United’s pressing and once they took the lead they managed the game well. Saying that their was no real threat from us and why should we expect there to be ? Benteke, Wickham and Ayew - is it five goals between them in three years ??!! That Norwich forward has got four in the first 2 games of this season !!

Ask yourself if there are any football club owners that would not see that as a problem and would not be doing their best to rectify it.

I’m not sure how Hodgson is meant to deliver results with such a massive handicap as having no functioning forwards , and the combination of Freedman and Parish dictating transfers.

I was largely in Parish’s corner up until this summers transfer window post sale of AWB, but I’m losing my religion with him now

Neither Parish nor Freedman should be anywhere near the football side of things and Freedman shouldn’t be in the club full stop.

It started to go wrong when the board bought Benteke and Parish then suddenly changed football strategy. It worked for Benteke but not for the defence. Parish then brought in Allardyce which worked through the team. Then the real fvck up came hiring FDB one season after buying Benteke. I said it then and I’ll say it now. Fvcking stupid. Then Roy was an inspired choice, only he won’t play to Benteke’s strength.

I’m afraid because Roy doesn’t have other options upfront and he’s too stubborn to change to play to Benteke or even Wickham then I’m afraid we’re screwed.

Parish is clueless and doesn’t plan ahead on the football. He never has. But now the funds have run out we either, and this is going to sound bad, make Roy the fall guy, or probably go down with the squad having no idea, yet it’s not that worse or different to the Allardyce team.

Agreed, and we looked good at the end of last season with Batshuayi up front. Disgraceful for Hodgson to have to start this season with a worse squad.

RH I am sure has a very hard job on his hands and I have to say SP and the co-owners are very slowly but surely taking us down. RH has little to work with plus I am fairly certain deep down the Wilf situation is having a big effect on morale. Our performance yesterday was, well less than acceptable and showed to me signs of discontent. 3 very poor transfer windows and no ground development spells big trouble to me. IMO what will happen SP will sack RH and appoint Chris Hughton (worth a bet I reckon) more doom and gloom!!
