Of course a long serving Muslim US Military officer caused the first US troop casualties of the Iraq War.... I quite agree some people shouldn't be, some people should be. And that's a reasonable system - A case by case basis, in which each applicants grounds are reviewed. And that's exactly why you can't have a blanket ban. Yes, we should take refugees, even child refugees, and the idea situation is to have been doing this years ago, from the camps, when people were arriving and you could verify who they were. Rather than five or six years later.

These are the sort of refugees we should be fast tracking through immigration (also the Gurkhas) Well first and foremost, I believe anyone who serves more than say 10-20 years in a UK based supporting position (not necessarily the Gurkhas, translators, key embassy staff and so on) should be eligible to apply for British Citizenship (or granted it as part of their mustering out, leaving package). Of course, its worth noting that not all translators and support staff, including Afghan military recruits, are 'anti-Taliban'. You can be certain that among their numbers are Taliban 'intelligence assets'. Because that's generally how infiltration works, you get people on the 'inside' that can obtain information and work with the enemy.
