I think we could be using the Wimmer rumours to get Liverpool nervous. Its starting to work if they want to do a deal now.

IF we are struggling to pay the required transfer fee for Sakho how on earth are we going to pay his gigantic wages. It may well be that Wimmer suits our purse better!

You cannot terminate contracts just like that, players sign them for whatever term is agreed and they are legally binding.

We have a prime opportunity to sign a French international who galvanised our defence last year, clearly wants to come to us and has agreed personal terms. Yet we're seemingly close to signing a far inferior player who isn't deemed good enough as back up for the Tottenham squad. If we don't get Sakho, the club have made a huge mistake. Getting really fed up with the lack of anything happening, we've known we needed defenders and a goalkeeper since the end of the Hull game. That was 101 days ago and we've got 2 kids on loan and a kid in defence. I know the manager left and that halted our progress but that has happened at other places and the board push forward with signings. Bringing a player in on loan who was so influential last season would have been a no brainer and would not have been difficult to explain to prospective managers. Now it looks like some of the big names in Italy are making bids, and we're still haggling over a few million quid. Edited by Alex1991 (24 Aug 2017 6.17pm)
