The record books will show that under Hodgson, England only lost 8 out of 56 games. They’ll also show 0 wins at the 2014 World Cup, and the only win at Euro 16 being a last minute winner against Wales. Across those tournaments we failed to beat any of; Slovakia, Russia, Iceland, Costa Rica, Uruguay or Italy. No one cares about beating San Marino and Gibraltar in qualifying.

It was said at the time, in different ways, that the PL is a great advert for our football but it does the national team no good whatsoever.

I have just two questions: 1. To Roy Hodgson How can an experienced manager like you completely and utterly fail to motivate your team ? 2. Steve Parish Are you not testing the fans' blind loyalty by, in effect, saying next season we MIGHT just stay up by again playing the manager's same negative style ? Answer to 1. - he obviously can't and has no idea what to do. Answer to 2: he is gambling that he does not have to step in come December with a new manager.

I'd go for Eddie Jones, strong on defence and attack, got England to a World Cup final and takes no nonsense. Different sport, but hey ho

I agree who would want to come to us maybe if they knew Wilf was going and they had the money more interest but this club doesn't have good record of that does it we sell Wilf and SP does a bunch of super cheap or free players only. The whole club needs full new owner ship not just Americans maybe when this takes place a manager of their choice will come in until then SP loves Roy so he wont get rid of him unless we was relegated. Edited by grumpymort (13 Jul 2020 4.39pm) Just because you have at sometime in your career played international football does not mean your a good player in the current squad (Benteke/WH for example). Cahill for has 61 caps but at 34 whilst still our best CB is unlikely to feature for England again as is Townsend. Of the current squad who are current internationals Riedewald is the best prospect and of course we must not forget Wilf, who is of course an international but way of form this last season with only 2 goals. if our squad was that good with all its international then the goals scored 30 proves otherwise. As you rightly point out mid table would says our squad is average but as we are currently 14th and therefore in the bottom half of the table. Thes rest we are in agreement I think!

There is a lot of very valid and honest opinions being expressed as there are many ways to skin a cat so to speak.
