I have just two questions: 1. To Roy Hodgson How can an experienced manager like you completely and utterly fail to motivate your team ? 2. Steve Parish Are you not testing the fans' blind loyalty by, in effect, saying next season we MIGHT just stay up by again playing the manager's same negative style ? Answer to 1. - he obviously can't and has no idea what to do. Answer to 2: he is gambling that he does not have to step in come December with a new manager.

There is a lot of very valid and honest opinions being expressed as there are many ways to skin a cat so to speak. The club has surely only one aim and that is to remain in the Premiership to finish as high as possible at the lowest outlay. If you accept that premise, and I accept you might not, then you have to make a decision on the way forward from where we are now. We have a squad of players capable of keeping us in the league but they are ageing and it needs updating. From the clubs point of view do you update with a new man at the helm or let the present management introduce the changes needed to overcome the ageing squad? . I would suggest due to the fact that the funds we have for updating the squad is not great then the safest option is to let the present management tweak the squad in such a way that younger players can be brought in to compliment the basic strengths of the squad. There is not the funds available to bring in a new management with fresh ways of playing and with the certainty of keeping us in the league, it is too risky. If we were to be taken over with excessive funds say like potentially Newcastle are then it is a different story. If I was on the board of the club I would want to continue with Roy and use his experience to effect the changes with an eye on change in 12 months time. There is no doubt the club is at a crossroads if they get it wrong they could well end up losing their status irrespective of the manager. COYP
