Their culture may not be, but get past that and they are. I am not blind to the problems but I still believe in the strength of humanity. Not sure that really equates. Americans, in my experience, are exceptionally warm and friendly but they still shoot each other at a rate of knots.

the likes of the BBC like to extol the virtues of the mythical paradise that was Al Andalus...... a paradise of harmony among Christians, Jews and Muslims. but we can say with some certainty, those Grooming scandals would have never happened in Spain. Not in 800 AD nor this month. what allowed Rotherham etc to happen ? a messed up culture inside the heads of Elites in London, and villagers on the ground. And similarly the sale & distribution of Heroin would not be tolerated to such a level in Spain. Certain groups in society getting fat from the misery of the community. I have had some very forthright discussions with American friends over their possession of guns, which I regarded as senseless. I was politely told I didn’t know what I was talking about. It was explained that unless you live in a city you cannot rely on the police to protect you. The distances are too great, the police too few. Criminals know that, so you need to protect yourself. That has produced a culture of self reliance and gun ownership that has spread everywhere and produced the crazy situation we see today. Why is Iran different? I think the answer to that is that is it is a very closed society. Information is controlled, dissidents locked up and executed. Protests banned. The human spirit survives though and brave people try to reach out.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Maybe it's changed since but at that time nobody dared do anything out of line.

a Romanian woman (26) was murdered in Limerick. Stabbed, By an Afghan Asylum Seeker. and the media is very muted. Seemingly, The fella arrived into her dwelling, and killed her immediately. The news article below speculates whether or not she was a sex-worker. Edited by PalazioVecchio (09 Apr 2023 9.04pm)

Any saying they're from Afghanistan can be sent back, once they've served time in nonces' prison, along with any that got visas sponsored by any of the perpetrators - who should be rounded up and sent back immediately. They'll soon be saying they're from somewhere else but that's their problem. My honest opinion is that the wider community needs to realise this is what will happen in order to stamp this out.

Probably the biggest scandal of governmental and institutional negligence in modern times. The kind of people filling these institutions are the problem. They can't hold these people to account because they literally hold the same attitudes and beliefs. So no one really gets held accountable and the necessary changes don't get made. You can elect politicians but if they lie to you about their intentions and the institutions working under them are at odds with those elected intentions then it makes democracy a fig leaf. All part of the red pill....a bitter pill to swallow....but at least you see the situation for what it really is. When your elites and their ideological bedfellows become so disconnected from the working class from which they originally emerged that disconnect breeds contempt....and in some cases hatred. Have no doubt, if these were their daughters the outcomes would have been very different. Edited by Stirlingsays (19 Aug 2023 1.45pm)
