This is virtually the same squad we've had for 4 years. They can play a different way. Why they arnt is down to tactics. Dont concede for 70 mins. Catch one on the break. Problem being we cant do that breakaway goal if we are trying not to go 2 down.
Luka has not lost his ability as he is a good player. Why he isnt showing it is down to tactics.
He used to be an attacking midfielder. Breaks up play gets forward shoots some times, well he used to and that's one example. If roy thinks they havent got the legs then put a couple of hungry young players on the pitch. Nothing to lose apart from a game which is what we are doing anyway.

This is not Roy's fault, he has asked for support in the last few transfer windows and has got nothing to speak of. This squad has limited ability and Roy is playing the best tactics to suite what talent he has got to select from. It's been obvious to most on here that we have had a striker, Right back and an attacking midfielder problem for most of the time Roy has been here, he has done a good job in keeping us up, look what was going to happen if FdV had been left in situ. The current squad is full of players that previous Managers have sourced and when they did not get the money to spend anymore they threw the toys out the pram and walked. I accept that the current run is not acceptable but as Willo has eloquently said the run of fixtures played at the rate they are currently coming is going to have an effect on an aged squad especially when played in summer conditions. They lack match fitness because of the C-19 effect has had on training and playing time. The board have to accept that if they want to maximise the clubs value we have to be in the PL, therefore Parish/Freeman have to get moving now or as soon as the window opens and find the 3/4 players we need in order to help Roy get us through to safety at the end of next season, whilst at the sametime looking for the options they have to replace Roy at the end of next season. Sadly our u23 side seem to not have the quality to step up being 2nd bottom of that modest league having scored only 27 goals all season.

If Norwich had of attempted to play like us then they may have stayed up. That manager should have been sacked 6 months ago while they were still in with a chance. Madness that he just kept sending him out to be battered week in and out. I couldn't understand it.

They have a different philosophy at Norwich. They were prepared for the drop as soon as they were promoted. They are dictated by their financial model which is successful but means they will continue to hover between the two leagues unless they get a cash injection.

Perhaps their fans and their chairman prefer them playing the way they do despite the outcome.

Like us they've had 4 promotions and 4 relegations, but at least they try to play football.

Their 'Net spend' this season has been a meagre £6 Mill.
When they were last in the PL, season 2015-16 their 'Net spend' was £23 Mill. They went down that season as they have this season.

I really don't buy the "poor Roy, he's had no funds, he's adapted the tactics to the squad available" BS. As manager of England he had the cream of the crop from which to select, because of his tactics he turned what looked a fairly decent team on paper into a laughing stock. Roy Hodgson is the problem, stop making excuses for his negativity. Kane on corners? Need a goal? McCarthy for McArthur? Should be given a fond farewell and move on.

Kane was the player with the best delivery.
Hodgson tried other players but they just didn't have the quality of delivery which Kane possessed so it was thought that this gave England a better chance of scoring.

I disagree, he has kept us in the PL with a very average squad and saved us from certain relegation had we stayed with FdV and all this with little or no support in terms of squad strengthening. It would not be sensible to replace Roy now with the new season just around the corner and in anyway he has a contract to the end of next season. What good proven Manager out there would want to come to us with the club directors keen to sell and with minimum investment available to strengthen the current squad.

How have we got an average squad we are around mid table squad and plenty of international players.

Squad is the magic word that Roy doesn't understand 25 men he appears to only know 13 max.

Correct he does have another year contract.

I agree who would want to come to us maybe if they knew Wilf was going and they had the money more interest but this club doesn't have good record of that does it we sell Wilf and SP does a bunch of super cheap or free players only.

The whole club needs full new owner ship not just Americans maybe when this takes place a manager of their choice will come in until then SP loves Roy so he wont get rid of him unless we was relegated.

Tells you all you need to know about the quality of the England players selected by the manager if the centre forward had to take corners. It was one of the most bizarre decisions ever made at that level.

The record books will show that under Hodgson, England only lost 8 out of 56 games.

Yes that is a win rate of +58% and currently at palace its nearly 43%, which is not bad given the squad he has!
