If Richarlison is worth £50m then what does that make Wilf worth? £125m? That Everton/Watford story is bonkers. £11.5m less than a year ago, then after an indifferent season (hasn’t scored since November) he’s suddenly worth £50m. But yes; I agree that Wilf has got to be worth at least double Richarlison’s price.

Thing is, other chairman and clubs are obviously aware of the daily grind, what goes in, what comes out, chairmen may be able to fool the fans, but surely they all know what money they got lurking - they can make educated guesses they we must have some money to play with? this whole thing being broke... i just don't buy it, unless our budget right now is else where and not on players. We’re not completely broke. We’ll just not be spending the full £45 mil average and certainly not replacing all those wages we got off the wage bill with the same wages in total. By how much we don’t know but we know that much.

Parish gave Wilf a very handsome new contract for good reason - no doubt he saw this day coming Or it hasn’t actually come yet. We’re talking about Spurs who won’t pay. And Everton. Everton! Forget them. When any of the other 5, but not Man Utd, get involved, be prepared for him to leave. Edited by Rudi Hedman (21 Jul 2018 8.30am)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Why would you want meaningless reassurances? If Madrid comes with 100m plus he will almost certainly go even on deadline day, if stating " we are in talks" people get more wound up if nothing closes soon. Originally posted by bexleydave
With three weeks of the window left I think everyone would have been OK still, but the Zaha rumours have really poked the hornet's nest. A simple Tweet from either the club or Mr P that we're in talks with two or three targets (if we hopefully are) and something on the Zaha situation would have been helpful, but we just don't seem to work like that.

We might hear some news on Wilf arfter the Oxford game today. It will be interesting to see if he's in the squad and, if so, whether he plays.
