With three weeks of the window left I think everyone would have been OK still, but the Zaha rumours have really poked the hornet's nest. A simple Tweet from either the club or Mr P that we're in talks with two or three targets (if we hopefully are) and something on the Zaha situation would have been helpful, but we just don't seem to work like that. Personally I like that the club tend to keep their cards close to their chests. It's so much more professional and dignified than the west ham / Harry Redknapp blabb to the papers every five minutes style. Plus the less the rest of the world knows about the clubs transfer strategy the better. Prices will be inflated if SP spills the beans regarding our budget, who the prime targets are, whether we have other irons in the fire or not etc. It's like national security; sure, you've got a right to ask and it might be reassuring to know what's going on, but ultimately it's probably in your interests not to.

As for the budget, Roy's already told the world about that.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle In Zaha related news; Warnock talking about when we resigned Wilf, how he was disillusioned by the fact that the manager hadn’t even spoken to him during his time there. Talksport have somehow worked out this was Sir Alex Ferguson. Despite the fact he was no longer Manchester United manager. What an embarrassing excuse for a sporting media organisation.

I have just listened to Sky Sports news, a minute ago and what they are actually saying is that "we are told that Zaha has not asked to leave the club" (no source given). That is entirely different to your spin and doesn't rank what they're saying above the half dozen newspapers that are saying something different. Edited by bexleydave (20 Jul 2018 5.43pm) Blimey. What they have been told directly contradicts newspaper stories.

Blimey. What they have been told directly contradicts newspaper stories. Well, "we are told" might mean they've been told by the office cat. But it does sound more solid than some of the s*** we've been subjected to.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Sometimes players like to feel the love. Wilf can have 4 stinkers off the trot and we will still love him but fans at a new club will turn on him if he doesnt live up to the hype staight away. The Everton fans have now turned on Yannick before and after his injury

Thing is, other chairman and clubs are obviously aware of the daily grind, what goes in, what comes out, chairmen may be able to fool the fans, but surely they all know what money they got lurking - they can make educated guesses they we must have some money to play with? this whole thing being broke... i just don't buy it, unless our budget right now is else where and not on players.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I think HITC are slightly insane. As great as it would be to get a swap for Sancho, there's no way a player with that much raw ability and potential will go that easily from Dortmund. He'll follow the traditional route of becoming one of the best in the world and then getting bought by Bayern Munich.
