Being English I am a subject of Great Britain but a citizen of the EU. EU citizenship is additional to and does not replace national citizenship. Citizenship of the Union is conferred directly on every EU citizen by the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU.

Talking of meaningless. How does Jeremy plan to try and put Britain further in the s*** to further his so far pitiful political career? I think you'll find you are typing bollocks again. Corbyn has scuppered May's hard Brexit. Get over it.

First and foremost, you're a UK subject and citizen, a country that happens to be a member of the European Union. "Europe" is not a sovereign nation - you're a citizen of a state that is a member of that union.
