Lots of rumours in the summer that Roy ultimately vetoed 3 or 4 decent players. Rumours doing the rounds again that Roy has vetoed Carrasco. Obviously these are all twitter rumours so could be rubbish but the narrative is that it seems like Dougie continually offers players for signing and Roy is blocking a fair few of them. Catch 22, Roy's contract up at end of season, approcahing mid 70's. Do you back him or do you buy players he doesn't want trying to enforce the changes to the squad you think is best in the long run. My son mentioned this and that Castaneda was one. If these rumours are true then I cannot see how we can progress. I am a supporter of Roy but not happy about this if true. How can he moan about needing players? Perhaps Camarasa was signed without his knowledge and he refused to play him. Patience wearing thin in my household

Meant Castagne IMO, the problem with getting transfers completed at this club is much deeper than Roy using a veto, we have a long history now of not being able to get transfers done, players just seemed to find something about this club toxic and most rumoured moves seem to breakdown because Parish just cannot seem to be able make his mind up on what the club needs and how much to spend, in fact he doesn't like spending anything these days and just keeps trying for short term loan deals which is doing nothing for the teams on going development. I just despair that this transfer window is going the same way as those before and we will end up with nothing and then it is a hope and prayer for the rest of the season!

The manager should never have to veto a player coming in; he should be involved in recruitment right from the start, so that the players we get in are ones that he actually wants for the team. Not going to give much credit to mere rumours, but it's very clear that there is a disconnect between management and recruitment at this club and we've suffered for it.

Patience wearing thin in my household Well we can assume he means players he wants and who will work hard in our shape. I do get annoyed after performances like Southampton and the two Brighton games, but really we're lucky to have Roy. In our last 14 games we play top 4 clubs 3 times, Liverpool and Leicester away and Chelsea at home - so not a horrific run in at all.

Patience wearing thin in my household Let’s all wait until February 1st and see if any more players turn up? Loads of rumours still floating around, so we only need a couple of them to come off!

How true and it's amazing that negotiations with Carrasco can have got so far before anyone bothered to check with Roy. That is if the Twitter rumours are true

What I would add is the same twitter rumours say Tosun is now injured. I've not seen anything official so it could just all be a 13 year old making things up. You have to assume though, that something is clearly wrong with the transfer strategy and the manager and DOF being on not just on different pages, but different books. It is that time of the year when there is rampant and chimerical speculation often propogating absolute tosh.Roughly spherical and there are two of them springs to mind.

Complicated further by us not having a clue on his successor. If we did then it would sway me to start rebuilding before we’re so slow with age we’ll be lucky to be 19th and not 11th with the help of Guaita and VAR. You may not have a clue, who Roy’s successor will be, but the club will have a list of prospects. I would be more amazed, if they announced who they want, as hopefully they are currently employed.
