Are you suggesting that there will be a 2nd member of staff on all trains that current have a guard, because if you are, you'd be factually wrong. Long term plan is to get rid of OBS's and replace with a small mobile team that will hit the commercially important trains (the ones that they receive most revenue from)

Not a theory

No, i'm not. I'm saying they're not getting rid of them, moving role is not getting rid of.

They are getting rid of the role, and they won't be on all the trains they're on now. There will be less OBS's than guards... in a few years, they will be about 60%.
So the chances of there being a 2nd member of staff on a service that now has a guard are significantly less... even Southern have admitted this.

We know the long term goal, which is why they need to stop claiming it's about safety.

But there will be no immediate job losses, they will simply not re-employ at the same rates in the future.

Today between 8 and half past if I recall correctly.

Lbc just after midday ((2 HRS in) the adverts have been taken out so you'll have to estimate)

Now stop being obtuse and listen to the interviews.

Also be interested to see your response to 7 mins lengthy post.

As an aside, no one has answered my earlier question about whether having only one member of staff on a full 12 carriage train is safe or not.

If it isn't about safety, why have drivers gone out? They refused a 1k bonus to accept, and their jobs are not under threat.

Not wasting my time, the bottom line said it all and flooding the message boards is against the rules anyway,

I wouldn't care if the ratio was 0:2000. Go Robot, to quote the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

As they think it's about future number of jobs.

They know it, we know it, Southern know it, the DFT know it. Stop dressing it up as something else.

Drivers have the most secure jobs in the industry... costs over 150k to train them, other TOC's love poaching them.

I am getting the sense from you, how ever many facts I put forward... you seem to ignore... maybe you have made your mind up.
