Are you saying that folks of middle eastern origin are justified in committing acts of violence against us? If so, should we simply take it, as penance for our meddling in their affairs? If not, then what's your point?

Why do you think they bomb and murder Muslims in their own countries? Edited by Stirlingsays (05 Jun 2017 2.05pm)

It's a cowardly sort whose immediate knee-jerk reaction to being attacked is to proclaim that the attack was justified, or to scramble to explain why the attack makes sense. Deluding oneself into believing that the attack is justified, or at least logical, is a self defense mechanism, employed by people who wish to avoid thinking about the fact that we face an enemy that is illogical and irrational. It's a way of convincing oneself that the enemy is less scary. It's easier to think of ISIS as simply trying to right wrongs that we have inflicted on them in the past. Facing the truth is harder. That said, I totally agree with you about interfering in the Middle East, albeit for, I think, different reasons. I think western countries shouldn't spend one more life or one more penny. Put an iron dome over it and let them have at it.

Apparently, one of the fascists on Saturday was a Moroccan. What part of British foreign policy had upset him then?
We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell] |

From your cultures perspective you don't see any reason for that but other cultures have a different view. Some will support each other without thinking 'nationally', they support each other because they understand each other's culture. It's what I referred to in an earlier comment, 'western' cultures assume everyone else has the same understanding of life values and priorities - they don't.

Which part of their 'culture' did he understand to mean that three men should repeatedly stab a defenceless woman to death?
