I never realised that a 'bell end' was someone who helps people when needed, distributes facts that the mainstream (owned) media rarely do, cough cough, and is happy to face ridicule from the masses when the message is in fact sound.
You live and learn.

Everything taken into account, including his self obsession, I do think he holds a valid place in the discussion. Also, he does actually get out there and help people as with the New Era Estate. Making a difference.

How'd you wind up with a yellow too? Is this place having a clear out of people not currently putting up the bunting?

Not too sure bud as I don't go through my history but I think it was something to do with our result against Hull? Some of the stuff being posted against our club/AP riled me that day and I guess the beer took over.
Anyway, i'm still here, and have equally apologised to the mods for adding to their massive workload.
As for 'Russ', along with many I never took to him initially but one day, for whatever reason, I took the time to ignore the bravado/persona and listened to the message.
The majority can't/don't want to face the truth though hence the abuse.
Oh well. You can lead a horse to water..............

I don't want to say he's changed because he was always a fan of these populist publicity stunts however he's gone from an exhibitionist comedian to an egomaniac. I'll give him the 'E15 Mothers' thing but there's a distinct possibility he got his cock out at some point.

Perhaps he had honest intentions in his backing of Labour but he only got involved because the Miliband thing was a bit of a coup really and was conceited enough to think he'd sway people.

Is this debate still on going, I thought it was pretty cut and dry myself.

The bloke is a massive hypocritical stupendous bellend. Typical Champagne Socialist.

He's an annoying, attention seeking egomaniac, rather than a great thinker. That said he does highlight obvious truths that somehow seem to have become lost to people. I suspect he's elevated as 'the voice' of these causes and concerns specifically for the purpose of bringing them down. We should at least endeavour not to fall for that ploy.

His highlighting of the New Era housing estate and ideas of community activism actually saved those people their homes. So fair play to him on that.

His schtick is exactly that though - spouting absolute and obvious truisms that we all know and love...errm and that's it.

He isn't a great thinker of our age but a stater of the bleedin' obvious

And he opened up a cafe on the new era estate using funded by profits from his book. The first of many proposed social enterprises.

He's egocentric but goes go out of his way to go good and actually get involved in helping local communities. How many people here do that? They're too busy attacking people who do.

I'd imagine a good deal (probably a majority) of people on here donate to charity on a regular basis.

Nobody is slating him for any 'charitable works' he does, they are slating him for being a tool.

Hitler loved dogs, Stalin bought his mum flowers (probably), and Pol Pot worked in a soup kitchen (maybe) - he doesn't become untouchable because he's done some good with a tiny portion of his vast wealth.

He talks like a student union activist (i.e. hasn't got a f**king clue about the real world) and people some how see him as a great thinker.

He is many things:
bully
misogynist
w@nker
bell end

but a great thinker, nah.

On account that he receives more negative attention from the newspapers than almost anyone else in the entire country, we realise he's not untouchable and beyond criticism.
