At this rate Roy will do another season. Need to try and find a good euro. Trouble is our mgmt don’t do languages other than Roy.

Trouble is that we are not an attractive proposition

and if this last round of games in Germany is anything to go by, he's now showing his dubious qualities as an unused substitute on the Koln FC bench.

As a PL club we are an attractive proposition to any ambitious manager who wants a shop window to show off his talents to the big boys both here and in Europe.

Meyer’s career at the top level is over before it began. There are plenty of players like him in the history of football who peaked early, made their money and then could not be bothered.

Lampard could bypass club management and take over from Aidy Boothroyd. I know it's the Mail, but smoke and fire an' all that.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I don't envisage Aidy Boothroyd's contract being renewed.

It was Boothroyd who succeeded Ray Lewington as manager of Watford.

I never understood why Boothroyd was appointed in the first place. He is not a senior manager with a glorious career winding down nor was he a bright prospect. He was a functional manager he did okay.

Lampard like Southgate may be better suited to international football than club management.

One of the disadvantages of club managers is that you live and breath football 24 x 7 never having enough time to plan for the next game or scout the next player personally.

For players like Lampard who had great careers do they really want to continue on the treadmill. As an international manager the prospect of less games and more time with the family maybe an attractive choice.

.... but did his best to cement his reputation with an unprovoked assault on Fitz Hall during our play-off game vs Watford back in 2006.

His only success was getting Watford promoted into the PL back in 2006, after they beat us in the two-legged semi-final.
After Watford he managed, Coventry, Colchester and Northampton.
Southgate doesn't have a stellar record in club football yet he is England manager!

Sadly, we do not have the team to go with that tag, no manager who values his reputation will want to come here unless there is a substantial transfer kitty to invest in the team and even then he has to accept controlling Parish and the Americans, who want out. He will also have to be happy to accept he cannot use his own initiative and must say yes to Parish at all times!
