Why insult everyone who disagrees with you?

There’s absolute zero proof that Hodgson has lost the dressing room. If it was true, news would of broken and he would of been sacked. So carry on sticking up for the OP’s libellous and, quite frankly, unfounded rumours. Because I’m getting sick and tired of how far this website has fallen in the last 5 or so years.

Over the last 3+years Roy has used his and his coaching teams experience and expertise to keep us in the PL with a shoestring budget and what is largely an inherited team put together by previous managers. The lack of investment in the squad is down to our directors who are either reluctant to invest in the squad or want out themselves and as a consequence we have one of the oldest squads in the PL which is prone to injury. Roy has limited resources week in and out to pick from and therefore his tactics and team balance is dictated by the ability of the players he has to choose from. The income Roy has generated for the this football club during his time as Manager is something we should all be grateful for. Sure he has to retire soon as he can't go on forever. However as thing stand within the club and the lack of desire to invest in the team, we will have a very low probability that we will ever be able attract a manager of his class to replace him, that is until the board decide where they stand a far a the clubs future is concerned.

I agree with the general thrust of your comments.

In my humble estimation the squad is not as good as perhaps many believe.Ageing players past their best, a distinct lack of creativity in the midfield, a lack of pace across the squad and of course strikers whose best days are behind them.

I accept others will see the squad in a different light and conclude a different manager would get more out of them.

True, we need goals but it's not lack of strikers.
What we do have is a non-functional midfield incapable of
1. holding the ball
2. bringing it forward
3. passing accurately (except sideways and back to the keeper)

Our existing strikers fully able to score if they get the ball, either by accurate crosses/corners or
passes that are not of the suicide variety.

I have great sympathy for Ayew, Batsuyhai & Benteke
- they haven't got a chance.

I agree with this. For a number of years, the strikers have been given the flack. The reality is that our midfield has lacked any creativity and with Zaha and Townsend on the wings, both who try and score themselves 90% of the time. Wilf is less likely to put in a good cross than Andros.

Even Vardy may miss 3/4 chances in a game. Our strikers are lucky to get 1 or 2 chances in a game.

I was hoping Eze would be the start of addressing that, but the reality is, our summer transfer window was woefully short again.

Roy's tactics don't seem to help, but he works with what he has and he hasn't been backed properly in the transfer market since he arrived.

I agree with some of what you say but I don't understand this recurring theory that the club/SP/directors/DF are tight with money, either their own or the clubs.

The directors put a further £25m of their own money in to CPFC last year as a long term interest free loan. You just can't put any more in. FFP doesn't allow it.

Our wages to turnover ratio was perilously high not long ago:

But now is more healthy, as is the general financial picture:

[Link]

Even with selling AWB, we were only £5m in profit.

The point is not anyone being tight, it is that CPFC has reached the glass ceiling financially. We have spent all we could spend, including borrowed money from the directors.

That's why we need the academy. As SP said in his last interview, he wants more assets on the pitch, allowing us to trade more and rely on income streams alone less. Plus we build a new stand to increase the income streams.

Right now though, we have literally maxed out on our potential as a club. When the academy starts churning out more AWBs and the new stand goes up, our potential increases, but not before.

I understand concern but (and I am aware we didn't before anyone states the bleeding obvious) had were won the last two matches we would be on 19 points and in the top 4. We beat Leeds 4-1 only two weeks ago. We have a cautious, probably over cautious manager but he has kept this team in the EPL for many years. I have no guarantee we will not be relegated this year but in those years he has managed this team that has always been the case. But he knows more about football and footballers than anyone writing on this site.

I do not understand the obsession with Howe. When he last left Bournemouth he spoke very dismissively of Palace. He relegated Bournemouth last year and previously has struggled more often than not to keep them up. He had good PR and a winning smile but is he a winning manager in the EPL.

I would just say to Roy critics be very cate about what you wish for!

Is it defamatory or likely to cause serious harm?

Seems like your making a grossly exaggerated claim based on hear say from an Internet forum which no reasonable person would take seriously.
