Also, do we think Benteke is still on £100+k p/w? He probably was when we signed him, but his original contract ended last season, and he is now in a one year deal with us.

I had presumed we had renegotiated (i.e. reduced) his terms when agreeing that one year deal with him?

It's all obscene money of course, and whilst his original salary is now utterly unjustifiable, I'd keep him around for the next three years if he'll accept 'only' £60k p/w.

Meyer I wouldn't waste a squad place on even if he'd play for free I'm afraid.

There are certainly a few things around in the internet suggesting as much.

Should probably be taken with a pinch of salt, but at the same time highly-prized free transfer players can command greater wages, so perhaps there is some truth to this:
