‘A hard working defensive display’ says Roy. It is Brighton FFS!!! UnAmbitious dross!

Oh dear,a very tough, uncertain season ahead if Mr Negative remains in place.

What a disgrace not even trying to play football, not even taking any responsibility for creating a game.

What a disgrace not even recognising this.

BBC counted 20 shots from Brighton, 1 from us, the homeside against a team in lower league position than ours!!!

It can't possible get worse and more embarrassing.

Completely agree with G O Eagle. That was such a depressing, dismal performance. No attempt to attack.
And those other stats they put up on screen covering the whole year: 20th out of 20 on passes completed; 20th out of 20 on possession; equal botttom goals scored. The rest of the country must groan when they see it's us on telly.
We have some potentially exciting players who can take the game to the opposition - Wilf, Eze, Bats, Townsend, Schlupp... but they're all being told to defend. It's totally dispiriting. Joyless.

I am a glass half full, i think the latest transfer window was successful, depending on which figures you believe, net spend of about £6 million, Sorloth/ Iniss sold, £16 mill Eze, signed two late 20s English internationals Clyne /Butland, promising full back Ferguson and an international striker Batman, defensive injuries clearing up, then Brighton, Cahil, Sclhupp, Batman first games, Wilf, jimmy mac, carrying injuries, so whilst Roy is defensive, he had to be
Once we bed in and get some points on the board he can be a little more expansive, all these wanting radical change should be careful, dont throw the baby out with the bathwater, personally i am more than happy overall with the stewardship of my club, from Parish, Dougie and Roy

When everyone was raving about Meyer before he signed, I hadn't even heard of him and struggled to get involved in the hype! But as we slowly got glimpses of him you could see he is a fantastic little footballer who is very confident with the ball. He keeps possession and very rarely gives the ball away. These are the players we need if we are to get the midfield involved with the forwards. These type create space and make other players run into space. To think Camarasa (of whom we'll never know) Meyer and Jairo have not featured at all is criminal and clarifys what Hodgson is about. McArthur who was our box to box now often resides in front of the back 4 along with the majority of our midfield!! Even Luka has stopped scoring. I've never been a fan of Hodgson and like a lot of fans at the moment, I'm glad I'm not going. Just gutted they are still taking my season ticket money. Give the job to Freedman for the rest of the season.... he has unfinished business!

This is one of the sad byproducts of Roy's management - undoubtedly talented players are not nurtured and have their confidence and progress crushed. As much as I begrudge Freedman, he's made some decent signings that could have evolved the team, but they will never be developed as individuals at Palace. Must be so disappointing for Freedman to see that happen time and again.

Agreed its a tough watch at the moment, especially when everyone else in the league is seemingly trying to play expansively.

Roy has been around a bit and is a wily old fox. It seems to me that without perceived home crowd advantage he is setting up every game as an away game.
It may or may not get us the points we need this season but its terrible to watch. Can't be long before the players get fed up with these tactics.

That said the game yesterday wasn't so different from the Amex game last season, it's just Brighton didn't nick one at the end. Don't remember too many people moaning that day.

..glass half full??.. at the moment my glass is empty.. So are you saying you were happy with our performance against Brighton?.. I for one wasn't.. If Roy was expansive now and used our attacking players in an attacking role we would probably get more points on the board now rather than maybe later.. We were totally negative because of Roy's tactics which he called The Siege Mentality.. awful performance and very lucky to get a point.. in the last two games, Chelsea and Brighton, we've not had a single shot on target apart from yesterdays penalty, which was our ONLY shot yesterday.. 180 mins of football without a shot on target.. total, unforgiveable, dross.. we were lucky to be playing a Brighton side who couldn't hit a barn door and not to be playing Liverpool or Man City or any other team who know how to finish otherwise we would've been lucky to keep the score in single figures.. why wasn't Eze playing? .. too creative for Roy I guess, he might have actually caused problems for Brighton by attacking them with skill and making openings for our two forwards who were starved of any decent creative passes and who may have an an attempt on goal if they had received the ball occasionally in the first place..

I could not agree more.

A ploddingly awful performance, and I was in a hissy fit long before the end.In actual fact I self-combusted when Brighton scored.

Palace Banana, yes i was unhappy with yesterdays performance, brighton have played better football this season than us, but they have less points, Chelsea game, Batman could not play, so we had last years problem up front, Bennie is never going to deliver, as for the game we lost (chelsea) to some extent to awful defending, i have been supporting Palace since 1958, at best we will be a mid table club, with hopefully a good cup run again, I think Roy will go this year, whoever takes over though will have the same restraints, but all in all i am quite a happy bunny

heres a point..
without cheating, looking up stats to remind ourselves..
what was the last game we won convincingly, at a canter, putting the opposition to the sword?

A bloody long while back, but the palace team with wright, bright, etc used to smash some sides in the then top flight(couldve even won it one year !)

probably the home trouncing of leicester a few years back, is best I can remember.
There are a lot of roys 1-0 bore wins that couldve easily gone tits up.
our recent survivals have been a lot less comfortable than the tables suggest

Football is meant to Be a fun game, and entertaining, our team has forgotten how to do that, with the way we are set up every game,it is scary cat football ,have some balls Roy and let the players of the leash,we will be lucky to survive if we keep turning out this rubbish, and it is not fair on the supporting public to be so negative every game, try entertaining you might be surprised!!!

Not sure what you’re smoking in MK, but a happy bunny after the latest offering from RH and his team. It didn’t even resemble football.
