I don't think the taking a knee for a minute before matches has been effective enough.

Players need to take a stand, so to speak. True change will be effected by teams voluntarily deciding to play the 90 shuffling around on their knees. Only then will the world change.

Sadly, another thread has wandered. Real respect has been shown to Sgt Matt by those whose lives he touched. I assume that all those who we get to know do matter - there is a need for people to open themselves to others and think for themselves.

The first link is a report by Breitbart, A far right website, that reported an interview with one of the founders of BLM, Patrice Cullors on another website. Breitbart take their particular slant on the whole interview, focussing on her formative years on the political scene. The original interview is a haunting recollection of her growing up amongst the black and Latino community and how it shaped her resistance to racial discrimination. So, the link is to a New York Post piece about a Breitbart piece about the original interview. Not exactly ‘horses mouth’ but two steps removed from an original interview, the main points of which they chose to omit. Mm… I would recommend anyone who’s interested (not many, I’ll wager lol) to read the original interview.

Your second link is from the American conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation. with strong Trump leanings and diametrically opposed to BLM, who they see as threatening ‘traditional’ American values.

Both links express right-wing interpretations, slants on BLM,. They are opinion, not fact.

If you consider these to be ‘the horse’s mouth’ then that is a mistake.
