Poorest since the dross of the Taylor era. The cutting edge has long been blunted and the wall at the back is built on shifting sands. Fundamentals need to be scrutinised as it's very worrying.
Be where you are; otherwise you will miss your life. |

I do sympathise with Hodgson who has kept us in the PL for 3 seasons during which our 'Net spend' has been just £8 Mill. We do have injuries and suspensions and an ageing squad which does look tired after having to play a succession of games in a short period of time.

This is just awful. There's only one direction we're going in - downwards! Sixty years of watching Palace and I can't recall it much sadder than this. It's just boring too. Has Hodgson lost the team? Sometimes, matches don't even rate as a contest! Can I have hope in the transfer window? - probably not, judging on history in NUMEROUS windows, we'll fail to sign any quality strikers. Who would wish to come to Palace, except for ludicrous wages? Where's the above-average youth talent to replace our old squad? I've the greatest respect for Wilf (often targeted and with 2/3 players on him) but he's had a very average season. I couldn't blame him in the present mess, if he wants to move on. Roy has done well over the seasons with the players he has - some memorable wins. Always diplomatic, perhaps too so? But isn't a shake up required? Many will feel the writing is on the wall. It's a difficult, risky situation.

While Roy has done a decent job, with limited resources, I'm afraid it's time for him to gracefully let someone else take the helm. I don't think Roy has the stature now to provide a compelling case to the board for player reinvestment and neither does he have the cachet to attract rising talent to the club. Who would sign for a manger with a 12 month lifespan? Not being able to go toe to toe with Parish and the Yanks, makes Roy a bit of a plodder. The board needs to bring in someone who is not a "yes man:. Let's see if Steve Parish, who I think has done a sterling job, has now the foresight and leadership skills to appoint someone who has the balls to stand up to him and the board. our player recruitment is poor because we spend no money, due to the high wage bill and Dougie is blinkered and not very good. I applaud the plans to invest in the academy, I understand the financial balancing act, but these past seven games have been dreadful and the team is too old, hence all the injuries this year. Can't expect 30 year olds to recover from the worlds most demanding competitive league and have the tissue flex of twenty somethings either.

He should retire with the honour of having redeemed his reputation from Liverpool and England by keeping us up for three years and being int the top 5 managers we have ever had

After Bournemouth first half I was honestly thinking Europe even dreamier Champions league. Shows what I know. So I think we were on target for record points from a seaso. Then BAMMM BOOOM total collapse. So why? Is it the lack of our brilliant fans? I just don’t get why the same players management etc are so suddenly and dramatically failing gam after game?

The lack of a decent striker is making us look far worse. In most of the games we have had chances I think that if we score we are good enough to get something out of a game. Goals win games we need 2 strikers who can get 10-15 goals per season each we also need a creative midfielder. This transfer window will decide if we stay up next season.

This mess is down to Parish, and he needs to step up and sort it out or sell the club if he can, but who'd want to buy us at the mo? Roy's not been backed and he's done the best he can with limited resources and kept us up but I can't see Parish giving him any money for transfers as he's only got one more season left on his contract. I'm not sure Parish realises the impact this s*** football is having on the next generation of Palace fans, my kids don't want to watch any more which is a shame. Roy should go and Parish should reap the consequences of his incompetence....

I'm not sure people are acknowledging the rate of improvement. At the start of Hodgson's reign, we lost 7 straight matches without scoring. This time we've scored in one of the 7 defeats. At his rate, in about 15 years we could be scoring in all 7
