You clearly haven’t been paying attention to the way Roy sets the team up

But we just drew at Man City and are 9th, Brighton are playing a more expansive game, where are they?
I would like us to play a more attacking entertaining style but what we are doing is working at the moment

I know how Roy plays and that he uses 3 central midfielders. I just don't think it's a good way to play. I'm writing this as we drew 2-2 away at Man City, so I'm going into the lion's den, but in the long term, I think it's horrible to be the team with least goals scored in the Premier League. It may very well get us relegated in a relatively short period, just as WBA got relegated after they had finished 7th the previous year with the best defense. Stoke never recovered and started scoring after the Tony Pulis period either. Burnley had the best defense in the PL 1-2 years ago and now they're almost down.

Youngsters need to be taught that they have to score 3-4 times in a match. If they become accustomed to defending a lot and having just 2 chances per game....they will never recover scoring form. The more chances you make in a game, the better your players will become with time. The more goals the attacking players score, the higher their price goes. So, even in case of less points, you still get to be more financially stable, cause you sell at a higher price.

McCarthy cost very little and is able to contribute as well as anyone in our midfield and as such is a great squad player in our set up. Your desire for a different midfielder should not label McCarthy as not worthy of being in our squad as it is.

From my point of view, it was Tony Pulis that got Stoke and WBA relegated, not that they replaced Tony Pulis. He was last when he got fired from WBA, so if they got relegated after that, it's on him too. And Stoke never really recovered after he was forcing his players to be so defensive. Sure, Mark Hughes had some years, but he was not really an improvement as manager.

Pulis went to Middlesbrough too and, even though they were one of the most powerful teams in the Championship on paper and were trying to get a promotion, they had the worst goal tally from the Top 8, failed to gain that promotion and eventually sacked Pulis after a series of bad results too. Now they will have to wait years for a new manager to fix what Pulis did.

Chelsea is a good example of how defensive tactics damage a team but how you can come out of it. Conte gave them a title but 3 bad years after that. Basically, they let the "young blood" and talented players roam free and play attacking football, so now we have Mount, Abraham, Pulisic, Hudson Odoi, Batshuayi, Barkley, Loftus Cheek (when he's not injured) instead of Giroud, Bakayoko, Matic, Pedro, Moses.
