I feel sure that Roy DOES have some say in who comes through the door. His problem is he has the same old favourites in the team unless we get injuries. Roy is old school and will not change as he is far too set in his ways I am afraid to even think about trying something different to get a result...just look at his days as England manager. Roy is doing his job by keeping us in the Premier League which is all he worries about and he gets good money for doing so.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Perhaps Camarasa constantly disobeys instructions in training to pass sideways and backwards, thus incurring Roy's wrath.

So what would you do if you were in Hodgson's shoes ?

Let's assume your brief is to keep the club in the Premier League. Let's further assume that you have hit upon a style of play that achieves that. You are also hamstrung financially compared to most other clubs and have little money to spend to improve the squad. So you rely on the same group of players week in week out.

Over to you....

As I said to stay in the premier league as he is doing and also as I did say! What I would do differently is use the youngsters by feeding them in slowly and not have them stuck on the bench for 90 odd minutes. Roy does not like to blood them for some reason unlike Chelsea who have tried all their young ones and are doing quite well to date.
Roy has players that have come in during a couple windows but because his style is different he will not play them or they only get one or two matches a season. He always sticks with Benteke saying he WILL come good and start scoring. This is B/S as Roy sets up the team to suit him which we ALL know does not work so we have the same old same old week in week out. You only have to read other posts on this subject and I NOT alone in my thinking.
Roy is good for keeping us in this division but do not expect top six or silverware!!

Very likely but surely, the impending Cup game is the opportunity for Roy to give Camarasa a run out?

I don't. We are too hamstrung by poor infrastructure low non tv revenue a worrying debt and a crushing wage bill.

I understand or at least hope that we are slowly moving in the direction of sorting the first 2 issues. When done the other problems will go away and we can finally advance.

Small steps.

Well if he don’t, then either Camarasa, is well short of fitness, useless, or a very naughty boy.
We are so short of bodies , the situation calls out for anyone on the books with two legs. Even if Hodgeson, doesn’t like the guys face. ( and he isn’t that sort of man) today would be Camarasas, one and only full appearance. If not, then any one ,or three of the above.

Very much doubt that, he'd be mad to cut his nose off to spite his face.

Just seems very obvious that he is not ever going to play under Mr Hodgson, it is quite weird how no news or leaked information appears from anywhere considering the ease of which information can breeze around these days especially when considering it is quite a talking point within Palace fans.
