My son has just messaged me to say Cahill is out. Anyone else heard this or has he been taken in by the Twitter rumour mill

I was talking to an old pal down the pub on Sunday about much the same topic . The players of yesterday were nowhere near as fit as todays where athleticism ,strength and speed are held in higher regard than they actual ability to play football .
We were watching the Arsenal game at the time so it may have been an extreme case as their lightweight snowflake players left the pitch for what were nothing more than knocks .

But I think it holds true that the fitness levels todays players have achieved leaves them more open to
muscular injury and once a player gets injured and has a weakness in the body they find it hard to get back to full fitness without long term treatment .

If Roy's not playing a bluff game & we are as crocked as suggested it might be time for Camarasa to get a chance, would love to see the guy take the opportunity & get a goal against the weed

It's beyond a joke now with Riedewald out too.. And Roy in the presser even called the owners out for not wanting to spend money to rectify it.. A manager in his prime would've walked away by now.

Unbelievable to have 4 left sided players all lost to injury. Gonna be so hard to field a balanced side until they return/ additions in Jan.

Cahill's leadership and composure is also a big miss.

We had a young left back on the bench last night and isn't this how AWB got his chance? With regards to Riedawald was he injured or brought off as he was clearly struggling...who knows!
Sakho returns for the West Ham match though which, is good news.

Bring back Brolin

I read an post match interview that said Jairo was injured in training the day before the game but thought he was alright to play, evidently he wasn't. Looked ok on the ball, but defensively was very bad.

Apparently Mitchell was carrying a slight injury too, hence why he probably didn't replace Riedewald. With five winnable games inside two weeks starting Saturday this is going to be a real test of Roy and his squad. Not ideal, but with McArthur's energy I think he could fill in at left-back on Saturday. He is more likely to support Wilf in an attacking sense too.

Personally I'm not convinced Jairo was injured. I think that might have been a white lie to cover up for his embarrassing performance (which given he hadn't started for almost two years is slightly forgivable).
