I think, unless we wanted to sell him, Wilf would stay put. It would be different if he was looking at getting picked for England al the time, but as he is in the Ivory Coast, I genuinely believe he would rather be with the club he loves and still be paid hefty.

“This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder

International football is in the main based on not losing ,England are as boring to watch as any and I wouldn't like Wilf to be associated with such a set up .

I do some what agree with this.

I think if you are a citizen you should be able to also be called up to national squad if not featured at any level for another national squad.

The current system is silly being able to hae and parents from some countries so you can play for them or you play for u21 for one but select another that is all wrong

Great statement from him.
One never holds ones breath with these things but for now we can be comfortable knowing that Wilf wants in - it will make it easier to get better players in next season!

Bit like a manager getting a vote of confidence from the board, you know they will be gone sooner than later.

I think he'll still be here next season but we'll probably get an offer we can't refuse in summer 2019.

If top 6 offered a sum Parish was happy with and promised Zaha first team football, he'd be gone.

It is interesting though.
Wilf may just be saying it to keep the season stabilised until we are (hopefully) safe but I don't think so.
He loves to be loved and at Palace he is definitely loved.
He needs freedom on the pitch and we give it to him where other clubs may not.
He is close to his Family with us and his extended Family is important to him..
He already has international football so he doesn't need to move for that.
I would pay him a signing on fee of £10m and give him
a big pay rise personally!

a top 6 team cant/wont do that (offer guaranteed 1st team football)
also he WONT get the adulation he gets with us if he moves on...
for that reason i think he stays for at least another season!!!

Love the player, sure. But isnt it a testament to how far we have traveled as a club ?

that diamond players are willing to stay with us. Clyne, Moses, johnson, Bolasie, even Johathan Bostock....

we are still a selling club ( everybody below the top 6 clubs on the planet is a selling club ) , but no longer cheap and cheerful.

For me, he is Mr Crystal Palace now. Our icon, our GOAT. His passion for CPFC warms the heart. Don't think it's possible to love our Wilf any more, especially after Saturday

would love to show videos of him murdering full backs to grandkids in 40 years or so
