Sainsbury's are launching their own record label!

Got me thinking about stuff I bought because it was on a particular label. Two Tone, 4AD, situation 2, factory and go discs spring to mind.

I'd quite like a box set of all the singles Trojan released.

Had no idea Bob Stanley was from Croydon...St Etienne are excellent!

On the subject of vinyl, many, many moons ago I saw a shop selling vinyls in Addiscombe called "The vinyl resting place". What a brilliant name and it brought a smile to my face.

I also recall from bygone days a shop in Norbury High Street called "Record Rendezvous" with booths where you could hear listen to singles and album tracks - all in vinyl of course !

that was on the Shirley rd, willo.
almost facing the cricketers pub.

Reception were a Leeds based label weren't they?

Sadly, smaller labels are struggling to get vinyl pressed because the big companies orders have grown so much.

Record pressing plants are like hens teeth compared to thirty years ago.
