I have not forgotten how many times (basically, every time) I tried to get a black cab to take me "south of the river" only to be told to f*** off. I also haven't forgotten the more recent experiences of having to pay 30 quid to go a couple of miles.

If only there was a way for employees to get together to negotiate a better deal for themselves... The unions have failed in getting better pay and conditions for their members for years. They are more concerned about flogging them credit cards and financial 'services', and making sure that people who can't decide whether they are a man or a woman get appropriate toilet facilities.
We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell] |

Are you going in your crocodile shoes and eating battery farm egg sandwiches when you get there? Your perfect right of course....and I'm being sanctimonious.....But if none of us gave a damn about companies then no better practices and companies would ever survive.

Shout at me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the taxpayer subsidise all airlines, in that there's no duty on aviation fuel? There may not be VAT either (I honestly don't know). Although there is of course a tax on the 'customer' when buying a ticket.
