Last week Man City closed the game against us, slowed it down, feigned injury, but got a win. Against Burnley we come back from 2 down and lose the game in injury time. Today we come back from 3-1 down to lead - but we concede 2 in injury time. Ridiculous. Bad coaching, bad players or both !!

We need someone who is pragmatic, prepared to do the basic stuff but will get us playing attractive attacking football when the confidence gets back up. Pardew only knows attacking, therein lies the problem.

Under the circumstances, and while he is available, I think it has to be Sam Allardyce. It might be a bit awkward if the old 'And why did you leave your last job?' question comes up in the interview, but I'd be happy to see him get the job.

Somehow, I think it's unlikely he'll be asked that question should it get to interview stage.
