Ok, I will back it up a bit. I have three reasonably weak reasons.

Firstly, Worthing football fans spent 90 minutes singing anti Burgess Hill songs one season when we were playing them instead of supporting their own team.

Secondly, the Worthing 20 mile race which is four laps of Worthing/Goring where the locals try to run you over and after 20 miles of running my chip didn't register me having finished so I never got an official time for my trouble.

Thirdly, I went on a date with a girl from Worthing. The date was in Worthing. She faked her own death to avoid a second date.

When I was managing an U18 team in Hove, we were drawn away to Worthing Utd ( I think it was ) in a cup game.

Their ' supporters ' ( i.e. their players families and friends ) were totally unsporting and obnoxious. Their linesman cheated us out of 2 perfectly good goals. After the game, one of my players had a knife pulled on him. We were then told to stay in our dressing room " for our own safety " while their manager made sure all of the wrong 'uns had left.

I then told him I was reporting his club to the FA, at which point he squared up to me ! I fronted him out, and we left in various cars only to find that a group of their players and supporters had gathered down the road and hurled bottles and other stuff at our cars as we passed.

Happy days....

I believe Worthing United is a separate club, so it sounds like football in Worthing is all the same!

A couple of years ago when BHTFC got promoted, we were a goal up and minutes away from destroying Worthing's chances of a playoff place. We all sang "we'll never play you again" very loudly. They, of course, equalised right near the end and made the playoffs. Fortunately they didn't win them!

They got promoted the season afterwards though.

It was like being in the old days, nothing was open at 9am on the Sunday morning, it just struck me as quite a bizarre place.

'Worthing Utd' and 'Worthing' are separate clubs.

Worthing Utd play in the Premier Division of the Southern Combination Football League (Formerly the Sussex County League)
Worthing play in the Premer Division of the Ryman League and have a 3G pitch on their home ground.

That's because the local teenagers have smoked all their grass.

Anywhere people pay over the odds for somewhere desirable with no genuine benefit. Notably Clapham which sees people migrate from all over the globe but largely from the more prosperous but dull areas of England. The sort who are less imaginative and more pretentious than those who might be drawn to an 'up and coming' area. Not that those people are any better.

Ann Summers is pretty tame though, the only thing in there worth putting up your bum is the fire extinguisher. If you'd said Honour then I'd have been intrigued.
