Commenting on their posts and telling them how to post are two different things. It's hardly attention seeking to comment on some ridiculous epidemic of emotional incontinence, it's merely starting a topic and seeing what other people think. People irritate the hell out of me on social media but it’s the type of thing that if you commented, you’d look like the dickhead. And you don’t actually want to start rows with all your friends, family and acquaintances, no matter how annoying they are. Moaning about it here seems as good an option as any.

I'm more than happy being an anonymous football fan than somebody who will have five minutes of fame for being distinctly average then disappear into footnote. I'll still be working in my chosen profession when she's stacking shelves in Tescos and long forgotten. In what way is Rita Ora influential anyway? She's a glorified pub singer. Two a penny. Everyone loves you when you die. Even if you barely knew them. Funny how Rita Ora doesn't mention Prince as one of her major influences in interviews in 2013 and 2014. Lilly Allen called her on it apparently, and got slated for doing so. Facebook is full of people I know who never liked Prince, and probably only know about three songs, who seem to be 'struck by his death'. Grief bandwagon chasers, or does misery just love company.

Edited by fed up eagle (26 Apr 2016 4.42pm) Better to be anonymous than be famous for being average at best. Prince, not my cup of tea, but I respected him. He seemed to be lyrically quite capable, inventive and a performer. Rita Ora looks like she'd suck off one the Keizer Chiefs if she thought it would make her famous.

Is true. I think maybe Miss Ora is using the death of a fellow performer to boost her own flagging career? Or am I being cynical?

In her defence, she was wearing a David Bowie T-Shirt in 2015 at a gig in September. I think people just get 'excited and over enthusiastic when people die'. I know I did when Amy Winehouse died, I shot my load within seconds.

Isn't she in dispute with her record company, Jay-Z's Roc nation, after signing her deal and doing sod all since? I doubt they give a f*** about making her look good.
