I think they are unfounded because surely they should only act after the woman he supposedly addressed complained, which does not appear to be the case?

This seems like a collosal waste time and money & I would prefer the Police to be concentrating on security following recent terrorist events in Europe.

Incitement doesn't require a complaint, only an intent on behalf of the party.

Then the law is an ass. I just do not understand how if there is no compliant, no evidence that he did this from a third party and, more to the point, how this is exactly 'racist'.

If he had racially berated someone and this was witnessed, agree, the bloke should be done, like that woman on the tram a few years ago. However, this just seems to be Twitter bollocks and a collosal waste of everyone's time.

Its not racist, the reporting is using a popular abbreviation of the Religious and Racial Hatred Act 2006. In reality, the charge relates to the Religious not racial aspect of the law.

He should be, but it looks like he's already gone for a better legal defence of actually making the CPS prove intent.

Its a good defence, puts an emphasis on reasonable doubt, and the prosecution only has the here say testimony of witnesses (who may well not want to give evidence against the Imam).

Where as CPFC boy has digitally preserved the evidence of his actions, and seems to have a bit of 'history' with other social media posts.

Our friendly Immam wrote these messages via WhatsApp, not smoke-signal. These is a digital record of these as well.

that doesn't make sense.

The victim or a witness does not need to report it: it is enough that the event occurred to be illegal.

To think that some of my tax money is funding this nonsense.

The law on racial hatred should be very carefully applied. Not liking a group is hardly a crime....or is it now.

We are living in an age where if you don't like a group of people you better not express it.

Is this really the direction we should be heading in?

Not liking a group of people, what exactly do you mean?

And how is it proved if a witness or victim doesn't report it?

What is the due process?

It doesn't make sense.

LoL. If a murder took place and the witness is the murderer(S) and the victim is dead. Did it occur?

I would say ask Stephen Lawrence.

I assume his Tw@tter feed is admissible? Not that I have that much interest in what is after all an everyday happenstance.

For me if a tw@t in the street went up to your daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and started ask weird questions (any subject), especially in front of you what would you do? I know what I would have done the damn fool.
