Actually I entirely agree with you on this, however I would suggest that isn't the case here. Its not a criminalisation of sugar, in say the way that cannabis or ecstasy are, but a levy to raise revenue on a substance that is harmful, and unregulated. I also think a similar approach used with alcohol and tobacco to regulation of the recreational drug market would ultimately be in the best interests of society, drug users and non-users (where in the state or state licenced agents can provide recreational drugs for sale, through licenced outlets, from which the state takes fixed levy - just like with booze).
What really gets my goat, is that pretentious prick Jamie Oliver. Celebrating when most of the desserts in his restaurant are sugar laden and have more than a can and a half of Coke's worth of sugar.

Apparently the sugar tax will hit the poor hardest. Funny how the poor always have cash for very expensive takeaways and equally expensive cans of coke. I reckon your average, feckless, workshy Labourite's weekly shopping bill smashes the granny out of mine. "What's a bag of frozen veg?" so says Waynetta. "My kids won't drink water!" exclaims Wayne. Good on you Mr Osborne, it takes a Tory Govt to start getting over some basic parenting practices.

Although I agree with the sugar tax....to a certain extent. Parents need to be educated, kick the kids off the Playstaion/pc/laptop/whatever,and make them go outside and PLAY if you eat or drink something thats sugery..go out and work it off.

Completely disagree with this. Britain is slowly but surely turning into a bunch a fat b@stards and anything that can be done to discourage people from consuming ridiculous amounts of sugar is a good thing. At least if they are going to drink it and pay the extra it will go towards promoting healthy lifestyles through physical activity in schools. My missus is a nurse and then number of people that are in for major surgery due to the crap they eat and drink is ridiculous. Do you honestly believe that!? I bet you a Mars Bar it won't. As for discouraging people to cut their sugar intake. It's far faaaaaar easier to stop it at source but they won't do that will they? Govts (of ANY colour) look after their 'friends'.............and sod the rest of us.
Time to move forward together. |

Hope all his diners receive a really nasty dose of the gutrots and his restaurants are forced to close! Anybody who names their kids Buddy Bear and Petal Blossom Rainbow is deserving for only the worst in life. I am thinking the mockney t*** should be on Cucking's list of those who need to die slowly of bowel cancer...

I just saw that evil c**t Teresa Mays cleavage whilst sitting behind Osborne on the news... Pretty sure I was sick in my mouth a bit.. Although now I've had time to think about it I've probably done worse...

The sugar tax is just another stealth tax. It makes no real sense in terms of health. Is a few pence on drinks really going to stop people buying them? And there are a million other products laden with sugar.

Are there still people out there who actually think that any politician is not a self serving b******?

That would require the parents to get off the lap top/ I-phone/TV and interact with their kids - even go out with them!

Ask any member of the emergency services what they think of Teresa May... Evil is probably the kindest and softest term you will hear to describe her.
