Will be posting Man Who Sold the World in the coming hour, my favourite track is "Memory of a Free festival" (which is on Space Oddity)

I used to have trouble sleeping when a teenager, i would listen to that all night...

I love all his work - it was more than just pop music, it was an opera, an event for the mind to wonder.

My favourite track... so hard, but by a whisper... Teenage Wildlife.

Wild is the wind.......... beautiful, so haunting.

Andy Warhol.... love this song... great lyrics, vocal harmonies and powerful accoustic strumming (when it actually gets going after the weird intro.. WTF)

Outside, even earthling, are great contemporary pieces!!

Buddha of suburbia is underrated.

For those that like this kind of thing, my profile name Vaibow is from an anagram i made from David Bowie - Eddi Vaibow - i came up with it as part of a media project.

Going through everything pretty much at the moment but I still keep coming back to either Life on Mars and All the Young Dudes as two pieces of utter perfection....popular as hell commercially but that's foor a reason.

LOM is not just one of the best pieces of music Bowie ever wrote, its one of the best pieces of music written by anybody, ever

I'm going to be unpopular here, but I don't care to be honest.

I was never a fan while he was alive and am not one (sycophantic or otherwise) now he's dead. Never really took to his music or imagery, was more into Paul Weller and the like as I grew up, then massivley into indie and dance music in the late eighties and 90's.

For me whilst he may have been ground breaking etc etc I thought he sounded like a badger straining a s***.

However clearly a massive musical influence for some, just not for me.

With respect, wrong place, wrong time. Would you walk into a pub as it hosts a wake for a bloke and say - never liked him, but i will have a beer if one is going??
