Arab countries expect us to adapt to their ways - a case in point was the gentleman caught with alcohol in his car in an arab state and jailed then threatened with a lashing or 50 of the whip. Why wouldn't I ?

Of course I do.

Arab countries expect us to adapt to their ways - a case in point was the gentleman caught with alcohol in his car in an arab state and jailed then threatened with a lashing or 50 of the whip.

I expect people not to indulge in treating women as 2nd class citizens, gay people to be tolerated, not to perform FGM on young girls, honour killings etc when they live or visit the UK.

Why wouldn't I ?

Personally, I don't like how this thread is becoming a witch hunt against refugees, immigrants, even yourself.

There needs to be a sound investigation by professional officers into exactly what happened in Cologne on NYE and who the perpetrators are without political interference from any politician.

You seem like an educated man Nick, I would have thought that you would have identified a fake police report given its timing very quickly. Is it possible that you let your political beliefs cloud your judgement when you decided to start this thread? You can't deny now that as more information begins to come out about this your initial statements and the starting of this thread are beginning to look a tad 'premature'.

Again, to reiterate, I never said the police report was the absolute truth-what is truth anyway?- depends who you are asking. I actually thought posting it would add to the debate. I agree that there does need to be an investigation, I also agree that as more info becomes available people's (including mine)position on the subject changes. Tis a shame that any reporting is so skewed by bias that arriving at the truth is very difficult.

I actually thought posting it would add to the debate.
I agree that there does need to be an investigation, I also agree that as more info becomes available people's (including mine)position on the subject changes.
Tis a shame that any reporting is so skewed by bias that arriving at the truth is very difficult.
