There are no gun reforms because the NRA are so aggressive. The thing about recalls is that the incumbent tends to be screwed as they historically have very low turnouts, and most of those are the ones trying to oust the incumbent. Think of it like online reviews. You are more likely to write a review when angry than happy. They put alot of money and time, fearmongering and outright lying, to get that person out of office.
Mind you... I'll bet the people at that concert in Paris wished they were tooled up. Edited by Hoof Hearted (04 Dec 2015 11.18am)

Edited by Hoof Hearted (04 Dec 2015 11.18am) True that, but then you have to balance the reality of it being useful in that one rare incident, to the reality of what would be the outcome of everyone walking around tool'ed up in the daily lives, on the off chance of needing to be tool'ed up. Friday nights in town across the UK would be like Beruit in the 80s. Scuffles and fights would escalate into lethal encounters and so on.

I see the Republicans have been on the anti-anti gun legislation again (admittedly brought by four Republicans). Even the very reasonable gun control laws to make the same laws apply to online and gun show sales and to prevent people on the terrorist 'no fly' list from buying firearms. The refusal of the republicans over the last one seem more than a bit insane.

Not sure I would like that on my conscience if I'd just pumped lead into some bearded roadie. And as for twists' lunch: what he forget to mention is the sexy waitress saying to one chap ' is that a gun in your pocket or........oh' Edited by Kermit8 (04 Dec 2015 1.31pm)

I went to lunch at a Thai today with 6 other people, 3 of them were carrying. Why do they carry ? fear of other people with guns.

IS supporters it seems. Be surprised if they weren't. Its pretty common for 'spree shooters' to identify and align themselves with extremist ideas and philosophy. Hopefully this will serve as a wake up call to the US about gun control and availability, which is far more of a threat to Americans than IS. But I doubt it'll make any difference.

Terrorists? or just three nutters? But why would terrorists go for a place like that instead of say a shopping centre ? Then at the same time its hard to believe that you'd get three nutters together willing to do that.I suppose Columbine had two loons but thats rare so to get three would seem unthinkable. Who mentioned ''terrorists''? Conditioning is working.
