A representation of Islamic UK attitudes 2015 A pointless thread tbh. When has that stopped anyone?

The media highlight black deaths by white cops for example but you hear very little when the opposite scenario happens. The media sell to people's prejudges because that's what attracts attention and hence money. The bots get more and more lifelike.

I think what they tell us, which any rational person would have known anyway, is that the vast majority of UK Muslims are normal people just going about their day and want no truck with the nutters, don't belong to their sect, and can't relate to them one jot. The only seriously questionable one for me is the one about Imans and violence toward the West. I wish they had broken it down. Are they talking about genuine state military action against aggressors or terrorism? Bit perplexed with that one tbh. How's your head feeling in that sand Kermy? Eleven percent of a population of millions supporting the fight against their own society is a very serious problem. Edited by Stirlingsays (22 Nov 2015 3.04pm) Much lower than I expected. It seems high, but its actually quite a low figure, statistically speaking, because the relevant interest is those among those 11% who actually would do something about it (certainly less than 1% of Muslim population has gone to join IS). Plenty of people in the UK and on here, have reflected that the country needs a revolution, but that doesn't mean they'll do anything about it. Of course you do need to keep 'an eye' on that 11%, but you have to also remember than most of them 'are hot air' arguably those who would do something, wouldn't respond to a poll that would put them in the 11%.

Then I remember that they are here for themselves not wishing to add anything to our collective society and living in their own little enclaves speaking their own language, building their mosques and despising us. They know their rate of birth will outstrip ours, so they play the waiting game until the balance of power through numbers tips in their favour. Our only hope Kermit is that the 89% does in fact increase because the 11% are a real problem right now, but we aint seen nothing yet!

Dontcha love stats. If theer are 2,700,000 Muslims in England and Wales then the 11% who approve of action to fight against western interests is 297,000. It would be unreasonable to say that all of these were radical or dangerously radical. Let's say that just 0.5% of that sub-group have extreme views. That is only about 4000 lunatics - that's OK then.

Just think of the carnage 40 could do, let alone 400 or 4000 as the figures suggest! Scary.

Thing is Hoof, I remember going to pubs in N.London in the early ninties to watch bands and get very drunk indeed, and their would be collection buckets handed round some of the unsavoury pubs collecting money for "the cause" which was just another way of saying the IRA. Nobody did f*** all about that, never made the press, no one said anything about it really, in that area it was common practice. It just makes me think to what level support for these ISIS wnakers is going on in Islamic strongholds like east and North London, and certain parts of North England (and I include Bedford in North England ) I just hope it's not as widespread and as casually accepted now, as it was back then.

I refuse to be concerned about terrorism until I am statistically more likely to be blown up than to be hit by a car. Atm, despite the media's best attempts, I'm not having any sleepless nights.

You obviously aren't worried by this possibility.... Okay, they might be "fabricated" figures but still scary to a lot of us!
