I think the defining characteristic of experiences of 'ghosts' really needs an explanation of what you mean by ghost, and the context. There are some very interesting neurological phenomena uncovered by parapsychologists, that have revolutionized how neuroscience understands the operation of the senses.

Rentaghost made me want to root out Audrey Roberts. A clear sign of paranormal phenomena.

Use to be sh1t scared of going upstairs my mate's house as a kid. It was only a small council maisonette. That was before his mum said she saw a ghost. The phone used to go weird when you'd ring and I'd see figures at the upstairs windows upon leaving the house. I'd say they were on a wind-up but I'd never told anyone I was scared, as I was in my early teens!

Do you reckon there are ghosts milling about that, for the most part, can't see us? The majority of them say to each other "I saw an alive person the other day" "Yeah mate, course you did".

..would somebody like to explain how I witnessed a conservatory door handle move up and down all by itself, I could see very clearly through the window and both handles were going absolutely bonkers! to the extent that the door was shaking violently, the family who owned the house had gone away on holiday so I also knew it to be empty at the time, I was laying a patio in next doors garden and I had to walk past their conservatory in order to do it, I did the work over a period of time because I had other jobs I was also working on, so there was never a set time to my comings and goings... as I walked past the handle it started to move, it was very slow at first and it was quite violent in it's movement, it stuck fully up for a moment and then down for a moment making quite a distinct sound, then the door handle got faster and faster until it became a blur and I could not see the handle..on both sides, just the noise of the door vibrating violently, I have tried to recreate what happened, but to this day cannot explain it, I know you lot will say this and that, but seriously this has freaked me out ever since, happened in 1989.
Seriously though, i've never seen a ghost but i have a few family/friends that swear blind that they have and i've no reason not to believe them. Edit: But i think i saw a UFO once while doing a roof in Tonbridge a few years ago. Edited by -TUX- (26 Aug 2015 8.09pm)

My mums house has some strange things that have happened. We usually sit in the kitchen as it has more space to all be and you can hear footsteps upstairs (probably floorboards settling after people have been up there) and the landing lightbulb has fallen out and landed on the middle of the wooden linen chest and not smashed (it is a normal bulb, not an energy efficient one). Might not sound strange, but the chest isn't directly underneath it. It has about a foot from directly underneath the bulb to the edge of the chest and it is a bayonet fitting. I like to apply reason yo things but the bulb being able to lift and twist itself out of the fitting and then landing on an object that isn't underneath it puzzles me

I still never forget walking back from my mates on the arena estate late at night down Albert rd towards portland rd around 1997, I got to Albert rd opposite St Marks school walking on the kerbside of the road with nothing around me, all of a sudden the right hand side of my shirt was tugged back as I walked and when I turned the grip was released but there was nothing there and like I said there was nothing my shirt could have been held by.
