Good day for us imo

We stay in touch this innings and put on another decent score then they're playing on a day 5 wicket that'll be cracking up

I'd have us as favourites right now

Think it's pretty even at the moment !
Don't forget thta Bell is totally out of nick and Root invariably follows a century with a paltry score.Still fancy the Aussies !

The pessimism of many English cricket fans is a bottomless well. On this thread we find ways to subtly knock Joe Root. The boy's a world class talent, appreciate him.

Root is a terrific player and lets hope he scores loads of centuries for England.Recently though he has failed in the second innings after a century in the first - lets hope he gets another century in his second innings ! He is only young and a "Work in progress".

Well said. I see his average is up to 54 now, good lad.

Vive le Roy!

Root is by far and away the best 12 year old to play Test Cricket.

When does he fit in his schooling?

We've still got a few tough nuts to crack to get the Aussies out........ Johnson didn't bowl well, so you can bet he'll have a decent knock together with Haddin.

This test is wide open!

I got that wrong... didn't expect the Aussies to capitulate so easy yesterday morning!

We let ourselves down yesterday afternoon but should have enough hopefully (412 target)to win, but still 2 full days play.

Moeen Ali's bowling will be key.

If Australia get the 412, it will be the third highest total ever in a 4th innings test chase. In all the thousands of test matches, only 4 teams have scored over 400 in the final innings.

Its rare that I get a prediction wrong on the HOL, regarding any sport bar football. It's like if I post it on here it happens, it's weird. Thought this prediction was more clear cut than the rest

England were not expected to win this and they did in 4 days .the pitch suited them or more they played the pitch better ,hope the groundsman at lords sees that

I'm not so sure that the pitch did suit England more as whilst Australia may prefer fast, bouncy pitches I think that Mark wood would be a real handful on that type of pitch.

I think that the Aussie bowlers were less able to adapt to the conditions than our lads and also didn't appear to have any plans on how to bowl to certain players.

It also seems that Jason Gillespie may have got it right when he referred to his own countrymen as Dad's Army
