It was the first instrument he learnt, so probably why it features on so many tracks. Opening of "the man who sold the world" for instance.

Sonny Rollins on Waiting for Friend by the Rolling Stones fits onto the song really nicely..... Same re sax at the end of Walk on the Wild Side... and Lee Allen's solos on loads of Fats Domino songs...many years later he also did a nifty one on So Long Baby Goodbye by The Blasters.
