I'm forever holding press conferences whilst I take a dump.

I also do an air high five to my sub when he comes off the pitch.

I remember managing Espanyol to the Spanish title with Luca Toni getting over 50 goals in a season. The next season we started badly and in a fit of temper took the option to publicly criticise the players. Lost the dressing room, the chairman got he hump and I was sacked 5 games later....heartbreaking.

Backup saves might be the answer. I never like to cheat because that seems a bit pointless, but I am considering keeping duplicate saves in case I ever do anything irrecoverable to my save game!

I never went back to any saves but I do remember my brother wining a game 3-0 and it crashing afterwards. It took him five reloads before he won the game again!

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

That happened to me on FM2012. Won 5-1 in a crunch game. It crashed. Next 4 or 5 loads I lost. Eventually I accepted a 1-0 win and the press made some comment about how they'd expected my team to be capable of winning by more than 1 goal. I was livid.

I've had two really annoying crashes. One in about 2009, got Tranmere to a League Cup semi against Spurs. 2-0 up at half time and it crashed during player talks. Re-load and lose 4-1. Boxing day this year, Everton 2nd in PL behind Spurs (what is it with them?), beat them 3-0 to go top and it crashes on the match report. Drew the re-load. Finished 3rd. Believe it or not, it never occurred to me to keep re-loading....idiot!
One thing I'm addicted to is kit changing. Or I was untill my step-daughter said it was the same as her Barbie Fashion game last night.
How about On-line management games? I dabble but there's little depth to the management aspects beyond tactics and training.

This thread made me seriously think about getting the new game last night. They would mean getting a decent graphics upgrade or a laptop but I seriously thought about it.

What with the xbox 1 and a couple of games on the Ipad if I did get it I'd never get to work or sleep!

We used to play Virtual Manager at work. Really good when it started out (Danish programmers I think) and we even used to take on each other's training for each other. Cost us 7 or 8 quid a quarter to play. The programmers started adding features to try to make it a better game but we all decided it spoilt it really. I think we've all cancelled our subscriptions to it.

Assuming you mean FM2015 I got it running on my old MacBook Pro. Graphics are on the lowest settings pretty much. Still works though and it's not all about graphics anyway. Graphics looked sh*te at first but after a bit of help from Google I changed it over from GPU graphics rendering to software rendering and it looks so much better now!

One thing to note though is that they got virtually no licence for kits, logos, player pictures etc so you have to mod them all in from all the helpful user sites on line and a few XML amends. Minor inconvenience for massive reward though!

You're not playing FM right if you haven't hosted at least one bathroom press conference, I've even found myself doing a weird David O'leary voice when I have these fake press conferences/team talks, dunno where that's come from.

If you are planning on playing it in public (train or coach journey) then make sure they are not meaningful games. Played a close end to the season out for palace a couple of years ago on a megabus journey home. We were going for automatics but had slipped out of the top 2 and I let the emotion get the better of me a couple of times - which is pretty embarrassing when you swear aloud at a bunch of computer dots in front of a bus full of people.

And a whole load of wonder kids have stole many years of my life.

Havent played in a while now this threads got me thinking I may load it up later and see how my 2012 games going.

The tried & tested successful tactic of buying as many wonder kids at the start of the game and blindly playing them every game just doing enough to keep your job for the 1st 2 seasons until they come good and you then kick on and do brilliantly,

I remember once in the 1998 game I actually got Ronaldo to join my palace team on a free transfer, and the day after he joined he got injured for 23 months...I almost cried, my mate refused to let me near the little star button and we almost came to blows as he saved the game!

Also the utter utter b****** of having to offer a "highest earner clause" as a last resort to get somebody to sign for you...that's f***ed me over a few times.

The ultimate high is getting the england job and immediately putting all your favourite players from your squad into the squad.

I've never liked people who cheaedt at the game, whether it be Mr Bulgaria or the late 90,s versions where after having a bid accepted you could change the price to zero...but I did on my latest version download the wonder kids shortlist and add it into the game!

The books a great read aswell, awash with nostalgia.

Billy jones....billy flipping jones.

Was always the 1st player I brought when he came into the game.

I want us to buy him from wba, purely because of my love for that man...

Btw if anybody thinks they've taken it to far...you've gotta read this

This takes it to an all new level...
