We both agree that identity politics is not desirable, nor rigid racial descriptions. The problem is that some of us think that surrendering our own identity and encouraging self hate and guilt related to so called 'privilege' and history is a way to cure all these ills. It 100% is not. We have to recognise the tribalism and self interest inherent in all human beings, and acknowledge that the 10% of Europeans on this planet will be undermined and swept away unless we stop fretting about everyone else's needs and ambitions and focus on our own. No other racial, cultural or religious group on Earth spends so much time trying to destroy itself.

Reducing identity politics is an unlikely outcome since race as a social construct is a central tenet of critical race theory.
